Those rear drag wheels are sick.

I have 17x11 Weld S71's w the 315/50-17 MT ET Street R. They work well and I really like the look. I'll likely get a set of front skinnies to match over the winter.

Total nube to drag tires but not running the 1/4 mile so please forgive my question if too stupid but I have searched and have not found the answer to my exact question.

I just got these set up delivered Wednesday as seen in above post.

Mickey Thompson 3572 305/45R17 ET Street R
Forgestar D5 Drag Wheels 17x10

What is the optimal tire pressure to run for my car. I've read on Mickey Thompson's site that cars over 3000 lbs and under 30" diameter should start at 12psi.

https://mickeythompsontires.com/tech-bulletins/street-air-pressure-guidelines

Does anyone have the setup I went with and if so, what psi are you running?

Thank you

im usually around 17 to 19 lbs myself ,but depending on how much horsepower you may be able to run more the 19 psi ,I find that if I go below 16 the rear end gets a little squirrely down the track

I set the Toyo TQs (345s) on my wagon to 17psi last weekend and they managed a 1.7 60'; Toyo recommends keeping them above 16psi for stability.

I am completely stock at this time so 707 at the crank. LOL. I'm going to try to get out there Friday and give it a go. The air will be cool here in Houston and hopefully the track won't be slick. Something about temps below 50-55 degrees and Houston Raceway Park make for a slick track.

DA right now is 1391.

As hellno said, 17-19 is a good range. I started at 18 with my REWB on ET R's and it's really happy there. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the info.
Last question.
What pressure should I run in them if I drive to the track with the drag rims/tire on? They are street legal. I am considering bringing the jack, 4way, and drag rims/tires and switching them out at the track. They fit in the trunk/back seat with the seats down no problem. One concern is securing the jack, 4way, and factory rims/tires while running. I don't have anywhere to put them and my only option would be to bring a cable and lock and securing then to a light pole in the far back area of the lot while running.

The hassle of switching rims/tires at the track and then not getting my factory ones stolen are the reasons why I would even consider driving to the track with them on. Round trip would be about 70-75 miles. If I drive to the track with them on, I would air them down to run, then use a small compressor to air them back to road driving psi if there is a difference. I would assume there is but that's why I am asking.

EDIT:

Called Mickey Thompson they said 32 psi for getting to and from the track.

I drive to the track with them on. For me it's a min of 125 mi round trip. As long as it's dry out they are fine. And yes, 32 psi is a good drive around pressure.

What's the offset of the 17x11 Weld's that your using?
I bought the wheels used but a quick tape measure/straight edge measurement shows to be 6"b.s. They fit well, no clearance issues anywhere and the 315/50 fits the 11" wheel width nicely.

I got my skinnies on recently. I went with the Forgestar D5. They don't seem to be as far sunk in as many of the other skinnies I've seen. Also, they clear the big brakes the RE has. And once they're powdercoated they look good w the S71's.
