New pb stock boost pump gas
Ta
#1 · 2d ago
Well after running a few times early in June, I finally got back to the track. Had issues for a couple of weeks. Still managed to run 10.07-10.09 on passes that hooked. Finally got my stuff to work in decent air. Well decent for me and excellent for most. LOL
Oct 27 I went to the track as a group from CJR Performance from Toronto came down to see how much quicker they would run here. Well the 2 quickest Hellcats in Canada picked up a tenth on their pb. Everyone ran a new pb.
My first pass was a shock. I achieved my goals of getting this silly car in the 9's.
My first pass was a 9.97 then a 9.99, 9.98 and 10.01. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.
The car is still the same as it has been for 3 years. Drag radials and skinnies, stock pulleys/blower, stock air box and filter, mopar rear seat delete kit, arc angel battery and CCI driveshaft with diff brace. Also 2.62 geared and 94 octane tune.
Hopefully the clip from another's video works. Once the dust settles i will share what I ran on the next day. LOL

Very nice ! quick question or 2… 94 octane from a drum or pump? who is your tuner? was thinking of going E85 with a pulley but I like the idea of stock boost and seeing how it does first. nice job!

Thanks. Im not sure it is. It's too bad we are so far apart and never got the chance.
His car is about 200lbs lighter than mine. I have the air advantage at times.
Back in June I was bracket racing. All morning running 10.23 or so. In the line up for first round I go to the trunk and find I had a drag radial and rim. Took it out. Lost 1st round. LOL
Then later in the day made a 10.13 and 10.14 pass. I then was sure I would run a 9.99 in good air. I never imagined a 9.87 the next day.
I'm heading back today for a kinda rental.
Running E85 to see what's up with that.

I would say most of the time he had the air advantage. -600 DA is awesome but very common for the DA to be -1000 to -1500 in Texas around January where he had his best times

10:25 of the video, -1600 DA. Your car with less gear, more weight and a 1000 more DA went almost a tenth faster

I didn't post the Sunday times. LOL
I was pleasantly surprised.
The baro on Saturday was 29.69 on Sunday it was 30.12 the da also dropped to -1100.
For some reason I can't post a pic of the slips. I ran 3 9.87's and a 9.88.
For those that bash 2.62's I cut a 1.43 60'.
I'm off to the track so I will try again later.

I'm sure it is 1st gear launch. I'm still using 1st gear with my 2.62s

I thought it would take 1st gear to run 9s as well, but somewhere along the way I thought I saw 2nd.

No 1st gear launch. I have 2.62's and I tried it once. I won't do that again. LOL
Maybe if I had a pulley to raise the power but not with the stock pulley blower.

My gas is from the pump. In spring and this late in the season i tend to use 91 and octane booster as our winter 94 is useless.
A friend of mine tunes my car.

Well I went back to the track Saturday nov9th.
CJR performance brought some cars down again. A bunch of them ran a new pb on the first pass. It was about 40-41f. The cars that got pb's went into the 8's for the first time or improved on their 8 sec bests. Everyone said they are coming back to this track, even one that had a 10 hour drive to get here. There are probably 4 or more tracks closer to him.
I also ran a new pb of 9.82. This is with E85 in early stages of tuning. I have also been having transmission issues for awhile now. So that will have to be dealt with by spring. Still happy. In June in 900 da the car ran 10.13 on warm day.
Then I have been back 6 times this fall. The first 2 I was having shifting issues. Yet still managed to run 10.08 both weeks without it shifting to 5th. Then there was the 2 days of the early part of this post. Last week the car never left the line. Did the filter and oil on the trans. I went back on Saturday just to see if I still had any strange noises. The car behaved all day.
I got only 2 tune revisions and still ran 9.82,9.83, 9.84 and a couple up to 9.89. The 9.83 pass I fealt the tires spin briefly and still managed a 1.44 60'
FYI the 1000' time on the slip is actually 15' to help the N/T guys and such to see how they get off the line. Screenshot_20241109_114736_Racing Slips.jpg Screenshot_20241109_135112_Racing Slips.jpg Screenshot_20241109_150102_Racing Slips.jpg

So you have a tune? Is that just to clean up the transmission? Higher rpms and shift points, clean up AFRs? What does the tune change/do? Car is a strong runner with a driver mod too obviously! Great times and way to represent!!!

Trans issue could be in the tune. For some reason tuning the trans is a struggle for a lot tuners. @Jon-MooredPerformanceLLC has that down. Not sure why they are such an issue. Seen many at the track not shift

I had a feeling something was off in June.
Went through the car and couldn't find anything.
When I checked trans level. I was about 1.25 - 1.5 qts low. I should have checked it after the engine change at the dealer. Basically since Sept 2021 I have been that low on transmission oil. So needless to say the oil and filter weren't the cleanest.
