Got the 3rd oil analysis results back at 2100 miles. Looks good from the comments. Copper down once again. Pennzoil 0W-40. I paid extra for the TBN which shows there's a ton of additive life left in the oil that we all prematurely drain out due to time instead of miles. Also those #041 SRT oil filters seem to filter very nicely. He mentioned there was only a trace amount of insolubles this time. (First oil filter was the factory 899, the second was a Wix, and the third was the SRT 041 filter in this test.
Good info on the filters!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I’m surprized by the high level of copper though, wonder where it comes from? My only thought there is bushed end of the rod???

Crank bearings???
Hellcats and Redeye’s had aluminum based bearings, the first Demon used the same bearing as the RE’s after it. I doubt main or rod bearings.

I haven’t seen a copper based sealer used in like forever.

The only “yellow” metal I know of with copper in it is bronze, it’s like 85-90% copper, only place I know of it used is the wrist pin bushing in the rods. That’s allot of copper and I doubt it’s from a sealer, there’s not many places a sealer is even used in these engines. Anyone see that high of a copper number in any other 170 oil samples? I’d be concerned and want to know where it’s from.

Guess what else is in bronze???
Hint, the other high abnomily probably mistaken for an engine sealer.

Another little addition for cheap insurance. New "R" design was easier to install in terms of lining up the through bolt.

P4D keeps outdoing themselves and costs me a lot of money - I think I've had every iteration of brace he's made except for this new -R lol. Wondering if you have ever run the unit that goes on the front of differential?

What I found with the brace on the front it transmits to much gear noise. I had one and took it off

My solid poverty p4d brace (the one that mounts to the diff in 4 places but is solid) makes the rear whine bad. At least I hope that’s what it is

None of these braces have ever given me more NVH, however the cradle lockouts did when I put them on Go Man Go. I'm trying to avoid those on the 170 if I can help it.

Take a look at the Darrell Cox lockouts. I have noticed no increase in NVH & easy install.
