Not true, only three years with Volkswagon and Porsche, Hyundai/Audi and think Mercedes have 2 years free.
I was looking at a VW ID4.
Im very interested in having an EV for the same reasons you have one. Just haven't been really interested until I saw one "cheap" enough to be interested.

Now lets talk level 2 chargers, so if Electricy America doesn't work for you, charge at home at night. Most Level 2 chargers are between 32 and 48 amps the most common are 40 amps that use a 240/50 amp circuit. I typically get a charge between 40 and 47 KW. Using a 40 amp 240 charger is 9.6KW. Therefore, it would take at most 4.9 hours to charge at home (ignoring some inefficiencies in the charge).

Probably not to most of the issues, however, the ship has sailed, just look at Dodge no hemis in 2024.
Their unfortunate approach has been well known for quite a while, which is partially why we've "hoarded" vehicles with 6.2s. And I'll pick up a fifth one this week.

If, God forbid, this EV nonsense keeps going against all odds, we should have enough fun vehicles to last us for a while.
And if idiocy prevails, I have generators. It won't be hard to put a small one on a trailer so my girlfriend could still go get groceries.

Current EV offerings would likely get her to Costco, but not back home again. Not even with 70 degree weather. Or driving slowly, which she won't.

Just look how expensive it is now to perform basic repairs on a ICE vehicle.
Meanwhile, apparently a new battery for a Taycan is about $73K. But that does include installation.

Hyundia Ioniq5 have 10K off. Tesla keeps reducing there prices and it is dragging the prices down (that and poor sales, which are everywhere). Right now you can get in one under 40K.

I am hoarding parts for my cars. I have 1 spare BGE block and entire motor as back up and a spare A8. Probably going to purchase another BGE block.

That battery didn't die from old age, but something happened to it. And it doesn't take much damage to put the whole thing out of commission.

IMO, stay away from the ID4 unless they upgrade the charging. They charge at 400 volts and the charge rate is limited to around 100KW. Hyundia stole Porsche technology and charges at 800 volts which can achieve much higher charge rates. The electric hummer has a advertised charge rate of 300KW which is higher than anything. At 240 KW the Hyundia will charge from 0 to 80% in 18 minutes.

Thats what the 10 year battery warranty is for. Not something that concerns me.

Does the warranty cover physical damage?

It costs you in the end and the price of the car being more than a gas car. Stop kidding yourself.

My hellcat gets 21mpg on the highway on e85 and it’s $2.60 a gallon. It’s all a scam, if they were serious everything would be ethanol converted or hydrogen.

Actually not true on all points, the average new car now costs is over 48K, many electric cars are less than that plus no sales tax (at least in NJ). I traded in an electric car in June 2022 to We buy Any Car and got paid $ 1,500 more than what I purchased the Ioniq5 from the dealer and it had 8,000 miles. Yes, I actually got paid to drive the electric car.

I don't know, I will have look into, it is either under warranty or covered under comprehensive coverage on my auto insurance and I have a $ 100 deductible. That is why it is not an issue to me.

Well, I got paid four times that much for driving my Trackhawk for about a year and a half. And avoided the dread of being in an EV in the process.

Its amazing to me how many here are so negative on something that most have never driven or owned. My electric cars are fantastic daily vehicles, I don't see going back to ICE given the free (to me charging) and the free charging is offered on the 2023 and 2024 models.

My trackhawk, is worth 20K more than what I paid according to KBB. I am surprised you sold it, hard to get one that is not modified.
