I'll mention this about the carbon fiber wheels if that's what they end up going with. They're light and help with handling but this has been done before, most recently by Ford and the GT500 or GT350R I can't remember which. My buddy has both and one of them came with CF wheels. Everyone pretty much immediately removed them and replaced them with standard wheels. Seems they're very fragile and super expensive to replace. Like $5K each or something nuts. Oh, and they weigh 17 or so lbs, not 7.1 lbs.
You guys did good. Those were the days. Incredible value when you think about what they are charging today. I got lucky too ... ordered my 2016 in December 2015 with MSRP upfront understanding and then found out you got a free TV (xmas promotion) also. Told them keep the TV and give me a discount ... so ended up $300 below MSRP.
amazing deal for these cars back in the day. I bought at the fire sale in 2017 and took the 0% interest, mine was right around MSRP, if I remember correctly. Anyway, ended up being 610, 640 a month, something like that. LOL just completely nuts. Sold for ~ 55K. Wish I hadn't done that now, but it is what it is. Needed the new place with room for all the kids.

I have a great relationship with my dealer...I've had a deposit on #7 since July....If he gets one I'm in @ MSRP.. He's not a top 500 dealer...or a power broker dealer..so it's anybody's guess...this much I know for sure...NOBODY..knows anything about #7..how many will be made or who will get them...nobody...everyone seems to have a buddy that's on the inside..maybe...maybe not..as of today...again ..nobody knows anything..If I get one great..if not...im fine...

Carbon fiber wheels came standard on the GT350R and were optional on the GT500. Structurally, CF wheels are strong, the problem is that you can't easily fix curb rash and chips, so most remove them in fear of damaging the finish, because like you mentioned, replacements are super expensive. I would prefer forged aluminum wheels over CF for a street going car, save the money for other things.
I bought my '16 from the original owner in CA, 11 months old, a couple thousand miles, who paid MSRP+ all the taxes, etc. - i got it for $20 grand under MSRP, or $25+k less than his out the door cost. My car has every available option except the red seat belts. I think I did ok.
