By the way temps have been up here I'm not sure it will ever snow again . 100F plus humidity is just stupid .

I’m in this hell too, maryland is a swamp. I’m thinking over the winter an active Interchiller might be the remedy. Eliminate weather for the most part.

I agree . I have the ability to add the whole demon chiller set up to my car I may be doing that this winter as well .

Sometimes hot weather like this for us calls for more snow because the lake doesn’t freeze. Sometimes our coldest winters we get less snow.

Some more work done . I will degree the cam tomorrow and finish thre valve seals tomorrow. Then reassembly through the week . Btw only 1 cylinder is sucking in oil . ( cylinder #1) the rest were good . The worst part of the whole job for me was removing the passenger side valve cover .

I totally agree . When I had the engine I had 2 issues . 1- low funds and I want to save a few bucks for emergencies.
2- lack of knowledge of VVT cams .

I am now further ahead on both issues now . And better late then never lol

Yeah there's not a lot of room in there to work. I know some performance shops have gone to just dropping the engine as it's faster but they have lifts etc.

Re-installing the front cover looks to be interesting as it goes over the pan. Is it just a matter of using the right gasket maker?

You just need a dab of gasket maker at the joint where the front cover meets the block on the oil pan on both sides .

"RIGHT STUFF " The only thing I use for possible oil leak applications.
Especially if it is a pain to redo.

I am situated in Florida and have not considered a chiller as of yet. I don't run mine long or the the strip to have to go to the extremes,,, but I do know how to build one. Very easy. Using 134 A refrig,, cheap and cools very fast.
