You should have said both heated and cooled seats, heated to soak them up from being so wet in a badass suv, and cooled to keep their hotness from melting you.

It's Friday. Adult beverages might be involved. The dealer and I are still emailing back and forth.

I think the car is a great price, the trade is fair (though I am still trying to see if they'll come up a bit after letting this deal go cold for a day or two), and I am going to make $5k trading in my Hellcat. I guess it would be different if I had bought my Hellcat new and took a bunch of depreciation on it, but I am actually going to get more than I paid for the car and dump that into the new car which, combined with the discounts, pretty much takes care of the immediate depreciation of the new car.

Who knows what I'll have parked in the garage tomorrow night...

It really does sound like the numbers are good on the new car....he's lucky to be making money on the one he just bought.....and it looks like he'll be able to offset some of the instant depreciation that would happen being it's a 2019 and we're near the end of 2020.

The car looks to be well loaded.....nice color...got the right wheels......

Email said "can't offer more on your trade with it's carfax history".

I replied "what history? The carfax is perfect!".

He replied "oh, you're right, that was a different carfax I was looking at. Still can't offer you more."

WTF? In an earlier email he said he could do $46k on the trade if he saw the car, then backed that down a bit based on someone else's carfax, and now won't go back up?

Serious question, what will they do with that new 2019? It's been on the lot for 270 days what do they do with cars that don't sell.

The only real hangup for me is that you can get deals like this on 2020s and the resale on the 2020 is immediately higher used.

I think it depends on the dealer how long they sit on them.

There's a dealer in my area that is still advertising a few leftover 2018 cars. I think some of them get a number in their head and won't go below it and will let it sit. I'm sure it can't be fun for them to continue to pay the taxes on it all this time.

Is this dealer at least back to the original price they offered you for your car? It sounds like that's where they should be after their little snafu.
