Not sure I'm a believer in the liten pulleys. I have seen many that did the blower damage when they broke. Can't say I have ever seen those kind of pulleys before the Hellcat.

I hadn't seen them either, but apparently they've been around a long time on AC compressors and alternators. New Ford GT500 uses them now as well, so I guess it's a thing. I like the decoupler design in terms of keeping stress off the supercharger but had I designed it I'd have had it fail "open" as it were, so that if the pulley system had a problem, it couldn't/shouldn't cause further issues with the supercharger. Just like free spin or something like that, no boost, etc. I also wish they were easier to change sizes, but I'm sure that part was made intentionally harder to deter some from fooling with them.

Speaking of that last part, the snout shaft will be pinned on mine now. Makes me wonder if that might allow pulley changes without having to remove the snout?

So, 100rwhp gain from a bearing plate and cast snout, all other things being equal?

That was the claim from a Trackhawk owner. Seems like a lot to me but maybe it's cumulative? Opening up the front of the blower will for sure let more air flow which will mean more aircharge.

Just a little informational rant.
We would like to dispel some rumors that IHI blowers can't be repaired if they have noisy discharge bearings, rotors that are missing coating, or locked up. Outside of chunks missing from the rotors, these blowers can be repaired at a fraction of what it will cost you for a brand new blower.
Also noisy bearings don't cause a blower to catastrophically fail. Will it make noise and sound terrible? Sure, absolutely, but it's not gonna flat out explode from noisy bearings. It's not going to blow your engine up, according to popular internet belief. A unmolested factory blower has never flat out failed or exploded. Failure is due to over speed and/or improper disassembly and/or assembly.
We have spent tens of thousands in research to design the proper tooling and implement the proper procedures to fully service these blowers correctly and make them live.
Now we're going to do something we don't normally do. Brag. We don't want bad karma, but we feel it's time to list our accomplishments. We've done over 200 blowers to date, zero failures. We have several blowers running in MSHS cars that win their classes repeatedly. We currently have blowers on the fastest blower only TRX and Durango. A long list of Hellcats and trackhawks in the 9s and 8s. Blowers with over 40k miles on since we touched them, still look like new. Enough bragging, because let's face it, the blower alone doesn't make these vehicles fast, it's ALL the work from behind the scenes.
Rant over

FI spacers showed up, CSP Racing forgot the blanket, now it's on the way. Someone suggested I run longer alignment dowels with the FI spacers to make installing the supercharger easier. Anyone else do that?

This is what is was recommended: https://www.fastenal.com/product/details/0128618

@16GoManGoHC2 is the man with this kinda thing.....is that beneficial? I wasn't able to order them online, some kind of "must have branch account" deal to order them but there's a Fastenal down the street.

YES, longer dowels are a must, they need to protrude the spacer to align the SC with the engine. McMaster Carr will have them if local fastenal doesn’t, Lowes may have too. Let me know if you need the length. You only need 2 in the passenger side. Getting the old ones out is a picnic.

well I don't know if they are a must. I played around a little trying to get the old ones out and they were not budging.

Being Speedy has the blower off right now he could spend the time getting them out. I was looking on getting the blower off, installing the spacers and getting it back on

Everything will work fine without them but if you can do it then do it:)

I know one guy that installed it without dowels...

I also know that he thinks he should have...

I further know that he hasn't had any issues without them...

Pro-tip

After a day or so, go thru the torque sequence again...

If you want the pulley perfectly parallel to the crank pulley dowels are a must, otherwise it’s a game of chance.
Yes, they can be a super bitch to get out. DONT try and save them, clamp (wreck) them with the biggest badest Vice grips you have and hammer on the side of the vise grips while adding twisting force on the dowel. If the replacement dowels are loose in the holes use a retaining compound like loctite 609, 680, etc to keep them in the blower As the last thing you want is one coming out and dropping down into a valve that’s open and into the cylinder. Not the end of the world you can retrieve it with a magnet through the spark plug hole but only if you know it was lost before you turned it over.
