I think the end of the horsepower wars is within sight. Not because the technology doesn't exist to keep it going within new fuel standards, but I think the market will change. There aren't many millennials that I know who are in to large V8 muscle cars. I'm sure this forum is dominated by Gen X and Baby Boomers. I'm in my prime earning years so probably have one or two somewhat expensive fast cars left to purchase, but I'm sure like most of you as I get closer to retirement I'll own what I own at that point and won't be dropping big dollars on toys. I don't think there are enough people behind us with the same interest to keep them building these cars.

Obviously there are a lot of exceptions but the trend is undeniable. I don’t generalize people I meet since I don’t like that either. Part of my job is hiring people and I’ve hired a lot of Millenials who don’t fit the stereotype but plenty do.

I'm a big car guy as anybody on here but you can't deny what tesla is doing with autonomous driving, if somebody commutes in heavy traffic areas like LA, bay area, NY there comes a point in time when stuff like adaptive cruise control is a lifesaver, kinda disappointing how the hellcats aren't getting the full treatment. But I can see the allure of tesla, everything else is bs, the not paying gas is a false narrative, your electric cost is pretty much baked into the selling price.

The sound, feel of the tesla doesn't bother me so much as the actual blandness of the exterior styling, which is fine for a commuter I guess.

Well in ten years I'll be 77...cant imagine im gonna want to go any faster than I am now...got a garage full of go fast hardware..and another one on the way...you young guys (under 60)...can f**k with this...lol

I see the next 10 years bringing huge changes with this artificial push towards EV. Remember folks suggesting oil will run out soon, etc. Now let's build all these EVs with rare Earth metals. Hope Dodge can continue to carve out an ICE segment...but not hopeful.

That's ok, once they penetrate the market with EV's you'll need a 30 year mortgage to buy one, and will have to turn off the electricity to your house b/c it will cost more than you can afford and the electric car will only be driven what little bit you can get from solar charging.....the only thing the electric future is good for is bicycle manufacturers!

I haven't seen a good ash tray in a car in over 15 years...as a result my Ram 2500 DD...the interior has more ashes inside than a busy crematorium ….nothin like a good cigar while driving
