So, when the piston ring is above the ports in the cylinder, what keeps the crankcase oil from spewing out? Maybe the air in the ports is pressurized, then the ports pressurize the crankcase? The more I think about this, the more is looks like fantasy.

Do they have to sleeve the piston to allow for extra travel out of the block? Wasn't the C6 Z06 n/a 427 motor set up like this?
