I still need to see the C8 in person before I hold judgement on styling. I have seen a GT500(albeit at a dealer). I know it's been beat to death, but the lack of a manual gearbox brings them both down a peg.
I already have a supercharged 700hp auto in the HCC and I have the manual only GT350, so while I respect the tech and performance, neither of these cars fit my world at present.
In fact, I'm more partial to a 19' C7 Z if I was to buy another ride.
I'm interested in a C8, but no way I'd buy a first year. Way to many changes to trust there won't be issues. My first year Gen 6 Camaro had several issues and GM ended up giving me a 6 year extended warranty (gasp did I say that!) to keep the car rather than them buy it back. I thought this might replace it in a year or two.
I love the looks and the performance and driving experience are looking to be great. I think the wheels need work though, something with a dish on the back for sure. Wonder how hard the thing will be to work on though. Spark plug changes could be a nightmare.
I'll let others do it first and post clips on youtube and decide.
Im not really a fan of just a muffler delete unless there are turbos on that exhaust stream.
Brother had a 5th gen camaro SS. I forget the cat back system but with the arh headers and a baby cam shaft it sound pretty damn sweet. Im just looking to replicate that even though its a different engine and different exhaust length.
The corvette looks too overdone. The GT500 looks like a poisoned catfish. The Challenger platform looks badass, and has plenty of power to keep me happy. As far as I'm concerned its Dodge for the win 100%.
Plug wires (and therefore the plugs themselves???) going in laterally into the side of the heads? That would seemingly make for a strange looking combustion chamber...

C8 or GT500 hmmmmm. I cant choose. I would want the C8 for those days when I want to pretend I am driving a Ferrari and I would want the GT500 for those days when I am pretending to be a Corvette.
I saw the C8 in person at Barrett Jackson and it was stunning. Then I sat in the car, and yet again the Corvette crushed my car soul. At 6’8” it’s just not happing. The same for the GT500, I just don’t fit. Both cars will set the world on fire, I’m just too damn tall. Thank God for the Hellcat!
