I remember when I was picking up my cat at the dealers. They were a little slow getting all the paperwork done, everybody in the building from the top boss to the maintenance person came by to look at the car and shake my hand. The parts dept manager even gave me a free touch-up pen. The dealership had just been taken over by new ownership and it was the 1st cat they sold. Now my chest is all pumped up, the wife & I jump in the car and go to leave, I stall it (m6) in front of all of these people. Talk about instant deflation, even the Hickster's girls wouldn't have helped....lol

My cat doesn’t get noticed much anymore but my Capri always does, people flash headlights, wave, blow the horn, make spin the tires hand motions, thumbs up, and to think I hated that big bubble hatch long ago, still do lol.

Yes the Hellcat got noticed. Many things in common with the stories i've read above....

However.... I don't think ANYTHING compares to when I drive the Atom. It's like i flew in and landed from outer space. It's literally like paparazzi.

Please don't think I'm gloating over beating the old Mopars with my new car. I'm nearly 70 myself and I LOVE seeing the old Mopars still running at the track. Last time out, there were a couple of real nice ones running and I was excited to talk to the owners about them. In both cases, the owners asked "is that your Hellcat over there?" then proceeded to be very aloof toward any conversation. I'm planning to have my own old Mopar out there next year (building it myself) and then maybe I can have a chat with these guys.

No - I don't think youre gloating, I am happy to see it from both sides of this conversation - proud of the old and the new muscle!

I have a standing offer by Michelin Engineering to come evaluate my next run in the Colorado Mile, as they want to check tires as I'm actually running.

Oh, wait, the Colorado Mile has been indefinitely cancelled...

I get a lot of thumbs up and some photos taken. I am not keen on the photos since I have no idea their reasonings. Call me paranoid but until you have had a car stolen, it makes you think twice. Doesn't help that we own the #1 stolen car either. I do get revved at a lot and get the creepers that like sneak up on you on the highway and just floor it.

On the thought that's it's amazing at this point that car guys in general dont know the basic specifics of car is rather startling.

Not much attention in a long time; rarely any photos (mine is dirty much of the time - adds stealth, but I don't like bc my rides used to be PRISTINE, I mean washed like 3 times a week). One of the very best though was while I was in Houston and getting the thing tinted and quartzed at a place that handles mostly Ferraris and the like. All the guys that worked there were all over the car, with stuff like "Now THATS a great car." They see Porsche, AMG, Lambo, all that stuff every day and they get a thrill out of the Charger HC. Nice.
