Geeze he is posting the same kind of redundant questions like you.

What has he done for you?

Anyone on this forum should be able to learn information of what works and doesn't.
They also should know the meaning of what Integrity means!

Linda
What hasn't he done for me. He went out of his way to make sure jon was up and running when his engine went this summer in 2 weeks. He has also been helping me on my next upgrade.

Seems so many are focused of what happened on a sale years ago with him that wasn't his fault and the person got their money back but it is easier to believe the bad things

Why are you even bringing that up?
Most members don't even know that information.

Focus on that? You are wrong. That's a chip on his shoulder.

He found the need to post to me and I posted back to him.

There is no focus at all in this thread it a bunch of distracting BS.

Go back and reread the thread!

A 180 T stat is a supporting Mod that many of us have in our race builds.

Even you talked about one in your Daytona........I'm going to think that you have one in your Hellcat because you must believe in using them.

.
"You can stop being so obstinate as you have been around the Hellcat Forums since your Dr Buick days!"

Seems you brought it up like you don't want people to forget something

The one in the hellcat is the exact same one from the daytona. I don't think they hurt on lowering temps but it has also been proven you can use the stock one. Like have having blower spacers, I think they help but most don't have them

A t stat again car is a way to make a sale. No one can say why it’s a supporting MOD. You can not put one in without causing a P0128 code. The supercharger will be way pass efficient temperature

I really believe the Milodon 16406 is a better option. Others are all similar and some fail

View attachment 122148
I have one of those Milodon’s new in Pkg yet, I didn’t use it because it does not have the valve extension on the rear to close off the port in the back of the thermostat housing. I use a cheap Autozone Motorad Tstat, I had 2 Misimoto stick closed I don’t use those anymore.

I've had a couple weird tstat issues this year, makes me a tad reluctant to swap in another 180 next spring, but I do like the benefits, even with the stock tune.

I have never thrown a code with the Motorad 180 either. I have a Mishimoto that I used for a bit, that one will definitely throw a code and does run cooler than the Motorad by like 5-10 degrees in my experience.

Also, no 180 thermostat (or any thermostat for that matter) actually pops off at 180 degrees, that’s not how they work. They have a dead band.

This is an entertaining thread. I will say, stock engine internal clearances are engineered to operate at the stock temp for part growth. I’m in the camp that you want your engine to get up to operating temp as soon as possible. 160 is 100% too low as I have experienced first hand the car will never learn fuel trims as it will never get up to temp. 180, does it do anything? Probably not. If you’re running at the ragged edge and want to free up every last pony/ be at or slightly above stock operating temp at the end of a pass? Maybe. But again, these engines are designed to operate HOT.

Also, I take the term “supporting mod” with a grain of salt. You know how auto zone always tries to sell you dielectric grease with spark plugs and windshield washer fluid with wiper blades?

On a road course (I know you all think we are nuts) we run the absolute shit out of these engines. How about rowing thru more than a dozen redline shifts in two minutes, then repeat that for about ten times or 25 minutes with no mercy in the system? BUT, but, we run the first couple of laps at moderate power of course warming up our brakes and tires. We never see the types of failures you have described that can happen in less than ten seconds with one run through your gears. Think about that.

You all could be on to something. But, but, if your engine is at 180 or more whatever thermo you have better be open and circulating water.

@EricG and I have traded junk $12 motoraid thermos between us since we have 2006 6.1L 300’s. Mine have never had a problem thru three Hemi engines now.

Funny story just this weekend my wife's cousin said how much cheaper drag racing was then road racing. I openly laughed at the table :ROFLMAO: Either way both are expensive. But like you say it seems even at only 8 Seconds of wot there are plenty of issues o_O
I told him both are to expensive and we both have spent to much on our cars

You are so right. Both causes massive cash to be input to enter the full enjoyment and almost competitive arenas.

It was a Motorad 180 I got from Summit that failed on me. Had Mishimotos in two cars for years and no problems. Strange

An engine failure post turns into a thermostat discussion, I never would have guessed. Next we will be discussing which oil is best and if Bowlerguy92 used that oil....

Those who have blown Redeye/Demon engines should post pictures of the damage, it would be helpful to compare them, especially those that lost cylinder 2.
