Aren't the 170 engines built in the US?

Just found out that all Gen III Hemi's including the D170 engine were built at the Saltillo engine plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.
Only the testing was done in the US.

I know the T.S.are manufactured in the US but I got it right from the horses mouth that the engine is manufactured in Mexico. I'm friends with a fellow that is friends both Timothy Kuniskis and Jim Wilder. They became friends way back when they raced together and he also did special deliveries for them at SRT. Here are some pictures of the trucks that he has at his house that he uses. He even got a couple of the D170 engines given to him. Lucky guy. He makes me jealous. lol

Just found out that the long blocks are built in Mexico then shipped to a plant in the US where the Twin Screw is installed. Maybe that is why it says US on your window sticker.

Not doubting you, just odd the window sticker thing. I always assumed Mexico. I'd think there's some regulatory thing requiring that info to be accurate though.

What really surprised me is that these seem to have just been mass produced like any other engine on the line rather than a specific engine builder with a builder's plate attached to the engine like the GT500 and others.

What can I say, I've seen many questionable statements made on paper work for whatever reason.
Could be to avoid certain taxes or import fees, who knows.

Lots of data logging this weekend. Probably my last check for misfires other than reviewing track logs.

My car just isn't exhibiting any misfire issues. This is another about 30 minute log from cold start with a wot pull at the end. Fuel was E66.

Two of these misfires in the log occurred before I even started the car. I keyed the car on, hit connect/record in HPTuners and before I could hit the start button two misfires were recorded. This shows some of these are for sure false.

Speedy - my experience diag'ing cars with misfires is....single digit type stuff like that is some kind of noise and not real. When a real misfire is present, the counter(s) will be much higher and often rolling pretty fast like a slot machine if real bad. I would say nothing to worry about in your case.

You have the correct Part # 68593181AA. The other fellow left out the #1 at the end. That is the injector that is used in the Demon 170. I have a complete D170 3.0L IHI twin screw straight from the factory and removed an injector to confirm your info. As far as I know
All Hemi s are assembled in MX
They are also assembling the inline 6

I believe the "country of origin" is where the majority of the parts are manufactured
Not assembled
How they count the parts is beyond me

I’d think that would be good for a base line so you can gradually see the break in metals leave. With all of the issues with these engine, I’d send the first one

What engine issues are you referring to? I've heard of one with a bunch of questions around it.

Everybody says spark plugs are junk and have misfire issues too.... and mine has zero.
