They could have sold the same exact charger and challenger for another 10 years, just had to keep prices reasonable and not sink billions into EVs and platforms that don’t sell. Flex fuel in a new line of hellcats would have had people trading in and buying new ones, especially with more power

When they bring it back you’ll probably get a flex fuel hellcat engine for the masses. Just no platform work selling to put it in

For those that say the Gen 3 Hemi will fit, especially those who quoted engine bay dimensions and volumes:

Looking at this gets me thinking...
What could you do with this once the batteries die?
Essentially this becomes a throwaway car - no better than your old laptop...
I wonder if you could "rebuild the front suspension" to replace the strut towers with an older (LX) Charger strut tower ? I am assuming the strut angle is more vertical on the LX Charger? I wonder what the future holds for these car - what would it take to "convert to ICE" power ?

Seems very short sighted to have put those shock towers so close together. They coulda left themselves an "out" and made it much wider, the car is like 6 or something inches wider than a Hellcat already isn't it?

Maybe the AWD required moving the towers inboard.

Saw my first one @ a local dealer..it was badged as an R/T stage 1...(Burgundy)...the lines while somewhat pedestrian..aren't that bad...they wont test drive it as the 2nd test drive resulted in the car being flat bedded back to the dealer...salesman said they sold one..within 3 wks it was back @ the dealer,,,(and still there)...the salesman's been there over 20 years...even he said..this was a bad idea...a REAL bad idea

They said the shock towers would need to be reconfigured because they brought them in thinking they would only ever have a slim inline 6.

I agree. It just goes to show you how committed to getting rid of the Hemi they were. You would think it would be better to leave them in the traditional locations even with the slimmer engine because it would give you/technician more room to work on them.

The I6 engine is slim but when looking at them fully outfitted they don’t seem that slim to me because of the turbos and massive intercoolers that are on the side of the engine. It’s not like they have one big front mount intercooler.
