block needed honed to fit pistons that are made for the bore. Funny how that works.
New block had a taper in the bores that needed fixed or would have had tight pistons.

This is a hellcat block can’t get a red eye one over the counter.

I have 6 blocks at the machine shop right now picked up 2 yesterday with my grand am.

is it actually true the red eye motors are stronger than the standard hellcat. I’m looking to find a car to do a track build with and plan to upgrade drivetrain before motor because I can’t blow up the driveline every time I go to the track And hook. I’m looking at a redeye standard body a used super stock and a used hellcat I’ve heard things from people not sure who to believe and you are obviously tearing these things down so I’d trust your word. It would be nice to know if I can lean on a red eye more before doing internals.

I can’t believe the machine shop is that freaking quick you’re lucky out there I had a whipple manifold sitting at a place for 2 months and they didn’t touch it I went and took it back

Depends on how fast you are looking to go. Mid 9s on either will be fine with a good tuner. Some have run low 9s and 8s for awhile also but at that level it can be hit or miss

my guy I dropped off two blocks Monday tone board and honed. 3 rotating assemblies and all done Thursday. He takes good care of me.
