Be it LE...or the pursued...these chases never made much sense to me...the risk factor to the innocent..and the LEO...are too high to justify V&T enforcement..
Agree, or potentially the competitive spirit takes over some of them with the intention of a personal “win”. This one for example is exceeding any expectation for public safety. He is passing other motorists in the emergency lanes grossing exceeding the speeds of normal people who have no experience interacting with fast moving vehicles. He is going 130 mph himself, potentially jeopardizing his own safety. Once he was a few miles from the bridge on the way to TN, how hard was it to slow the fuck down and call the TN folks to simply intercept him coming over the pinch point he is obviously headed for? I hope the new Governor in AK can direct her Highway patrol to get smarter. I have driven 130 mph on road courses many times, and it is not the same as 75! Others are absolutely horrified at that speed or interacting at those speeds. For good reason!
I think a large part of the pursuit isn’t the initial traffic violation but that there is probably something much worse going in if they’re willing to run. That’s where the LEO has to make a judgement call…
Reminds me of the old Gallagher routine about cops.
"Traffic cops do 2 things. Both of them bad. First, they go the speed limit. What's this do? It slows everybody down.
Second, they chase speeders going 100 miles an hour. What's that do? Doubles the number of cars travelling at a dangerous rate of speed!
Don't understand it. All it takes is for one motorist to freak and try to swerve out of the way or hit the brakes and it's a disaster for the officer and whoever else is involved. If the driver of the Camaro was Jeffrey Dahmer, maybe... but I thought public safety was part of the pledge? I hope the Asshat driving the Camaro gets his due. Pretty sure it wasn't Jeffrey Dahmer though.

Not a Fan of high speed pursuits...(especially long ones)...but they just cant be allowed to flee as well...Confirmed serious felon...or felony in progress...I get it...V&T violations.....No way...break it off
