I’m considering a Trackhawk at the moment, as I have a
Jeep Compass that has a end of lease date June 29th. I also have a 2015 SRT
Jeep I can trade in. My issue is with the lease on my Compass. The payments have always been on auto-deduct from my checking account to Chrysler Capital and have always been made on time. As have every other vehicle lease and purchase payment to CC for many other vehicles. However, this past January, a new person in my office that does billing and payments, saw the Compass’ monthly statement and prepared a check for it. I signed it without realizing it. I happened to notice the cleared check to CC in my bank statement and realized I had double paid CC. I assumed they would credit me for the next payment and everything would be fine. When I called them, they said they have no record of receiving the check. I sent them copies of the front and back of the cleared check and they said something to the effect of, “sorry, we don’t know where we put your money, so we won’t give you credit for it. I then asked them to complete a form to allow my bank to contact the bank that cleared the check, so the matter can be investigated further. They refused to complete the form.
Through auto deduct, the account is paid in full, but I’m out $388. It’s not a huge amount, but enough to make me wonder if I should look elsewhere for my next vehicle. FCA (Chrysler Capital) may lose a customer that has purchased 8 new vehicles in the past 10 years and never paid late, ever.
