Deer Strike

Posted on the other site when I first hit the deer. This is the next day surveying damage. Looks only cosmetic as it still drives fine, no alignment issues.


This is what it looks like now, torn apart. The areas marked in purple were the damaged areas. Basically bent a couple mounting tabs and broke the radiator mount when the headlight pushed in. The inner side of the fender where the hood sits had a very tiny ripple. I couldn't even see it until they showed me. The top and outsides of the fender are undamaged.


Roughly $7800 but falls under Comprehensive so doesn't count as an accident.. They will re-wrap the whole front end with Suntek PPF Ultra which is a good chunk of the estimate. I will update the post once I get it back with a finished picture.

I know the feeling, hit 3 deer in the last 5 years or so, central Jersey has a deer infestation problem since many municipalities do not allow hunting.

Wow - $7800 for some cosmetic work and wrap is pricey but I am glad you didn't suffer any major damage!

Pocket the money, remount the headlights, drive as is. Problem solved and I bet no one will mess with you with that custom Mad Max look going on.

5000 pounds versus 600 pounds, deer should be dead meat. Glad he/she did not come through window. How fast were you going?
