Compressor failure, big mess!

This was after I threw 3 buckets of warm water on it.. compressor failed and blew milky water all over my wheel and tire! Was scary! Lucky the residual goop was easy to whipe off! After 20 minutes of cleaning everything.. just wanted to top off the tires and this happened! Was wild be careful guys.. literally a quarter gallon of milky goop was shooting everywhere as soon as I pulled the line off the tire.

This was from the factory compressor in your trunk! I spoke to srt tech and he said sometimes the lines can freeze and this can happen! Be careful don’t let it be you too! Wasn’t very fun. But all is good now.

Not trying to doubt you, but the default position of the switch is in the "goo" mode, you have to turn it to get "just" air.

My daughter's boyfriend did exactly this same thing...

Why does it even have that? Your absolutely right. Well here’s the thing.. so I was trying to fill it in air mode and it wasn’t filling up.. so I flicked it over to see what happen and it shot the goo lol! Yes your right

Unknown, I'm scared if I ever have to use mine... I've got another small one without the goo in it that I keep in the trunk just because of this.

Are you speaking of the air compressor in the trunk? I use an air compressor at home so haven't reached for it. Got one of the Dewault battery/jumper/air compressors for the Durango as we are sometimes out in the middle of no where on camping trips.

Was this a malfunction ultimately? Assuming good was lubrication oil?

Yes the one in your trunk.. Apparently bull claims that default setting intentionally does it. So I grabbed my other older one I have in the garage to fill up my tires

Could you imagine turning it on goo setting while it’s on your leather seat. Omg would be a total disaster.

Will throw it in trash and bring the Dewault if going somewhere far. @BULL, should we put this info on the air compressor somewhere? Might prevent a future event as I had no idea. Good info.

Thank you. I had a thread on having a "real" spare in the trunk. If I had any doubt, I don't now. LOL. If that happened on the road while stuck I'd loose my sh^&. That's a real PIA. Hope you didn't wipe out the sensor.

Just only ever use that thing in a true, last-ditch, emergency.... Arguably, that's really why it's there. It would just be nice if they made the thing more obvious...

The diagram on the compressor sucks too. They should only have one setting! Air! Not a second settings for shooting goop everywhere. I mean it was pretty ridiculous. I had to laugh for a few seconds though because at first I didn’t think it was real like i was stuck in some nightmare. Never seen anything like it. Exactly why I posted this.. because I’m pretty sure most of you, except bull have no idea that thing in your trunk can do this.

There should be 2 hoses
1 clear for tire sealant ( set to sealant )
1 black for air ( air only )

Being lazy I use the sealant on my Riding mower
Works awesome
Not sure I ever want to remove the tire thou

Oh so now it’s a tire service kit not a compressor. Definitely going in the trash haha.

Note if your tire is inflated and you switch to goop it will hardly go in the tire and then when your trying to remove it, it will spray everywhere! My problem was on the air setting the thing wasn’t putting psi in the tire was actually deflating. So something was wrong.

Guys I am a total idiot, now realizing there are 2 hoses haha. I was using the sealant hose trying to pump air. Wow. Well atleast I know my tire repair kit is functioning properly
