I've only been able to put 350mi on the SRTD without giving it hell and it's killing me! ๐Ÿ˜

I'm dying a slow death here. ๐Ÿ˜ช

Some of the recommendations are bit absurd. No above 70mph...? WTH. So. I'm driving around like a true Florida retiree sans the blinker on for 5 min.

I need a drink. ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‚

I did all the way to 1,500 miles. I daily mine so it was easy to rack up the mileage. It was very hard for sure.

I think your fine on the speed being over 70 as long as it ain't high revs. I drove mine at highway speeds and my biggest concern was not hard acceleration and hard braking. Other than that you have a pretty solid car and your signature says its a 16? And its brand new huh lol. Hell I would be more worried bout the tires being dry rot lol and or transmission fluid , differential fluid, SC oil, motor oil, brake fluid...etc. Am I reading this correctly on your car?

If you donโ€™t, the big risk is an annoying whining rear end it seems. The engine donโ€™t give a rip, because they already red-lined it at the factory doing the dyno run. Still, change the oil at 500 miles IMO for a happy engine.

I did. In fact....I still do the old school thing and do the first oil change at 500 miles. Oil is cheap in the long run. And I would NEVER let it go 7500 miles like some new vehicles say you can. Never. Well...ok.....if we were living in Mad Max times....maybe.

First oil change at 6 months (& 3000 miles) per manual. Got up to 100 on way back from car show with White Trash (George) behind in his Demon (had less than 50 miles on it).

Considering I drove mine home right off the showroom floor trying to beat a coming snowstorm in 2016 without reading the owners manual not really. I drove 70-75 most of the 50 mile drive. It was early February so I parked it until mid March. At that time after reading the manual and being horrified at what I did I then followed it religiously, it caused no issues though. I changed oil at 600 miles.

I did the break-in as recommended in the owner's manual - for the most part. I didn't limit it the whole time to 55 mph the first 100 miles though. I took the backroads form the dealer the first 50 miles or so staying around 45 mph, and then had to get on the highway the remaining 30 miles home....speed limit was 70 so that's what I did. Everything else was by the book. I have 769 miles on it now, and haven't changed the oil yet. I'll most likely do the same I did with my '15 and change it around 2K miles.

I kind of like the fact it still has the factory fill with whatever break-in additive they use (if any). I already bought new oil and filter from NAPA waiting till that time comes. (saved 66 bucks on 12 quarts and a filter!!)

-I tend to agree with what was said above about the break-in mainly being for the rear end.

Broke it in as manual stated up to 500 miles then drove 400 miles to the track and with 900miles did 20 passes. Car keeps getting faster and faster. It now has 2400 miles and 75 passes. I love these cars. hpindy put the last 400 miles on my car because he drove it home from the track and I drove his Hellcat home in my trailer because it was too fast and I wanted to keep it but he wouldn't let me.

6 miles off the show room floor. 500 city miles, oil change, nasty stuff out. Then 560 miles to Atlanta, let it sleep for 2 days, and another 560 home. Broke in,, or broken. Spent next 3 months in inexstensive care at the dealership. My fault, but like a new car. Dodge took care of my stupidity. Thanks, but did what the 412 pages of warranty book says. Wy knot. Road trip on 75 for 3 days and done. 93 tane and no over heating, ceck oil and done. I wood.

I'm still waiting on my 2019 Redeye to show up. I guess it's frozen to the ground up in Detroit. I plan on changing the oem oil filter out first thing and running a K&P engineering filter. I also plan on oil changes at 500 , 1500, and then every 3000 miles. A friend suggested that I break it in on valet mode Black key. I thought about it for about as long as it takes a A8 to shift. I don't want it to grow up and be a pussy either. as some one mentioned earlier these engines are loaded and twisted and somewhat seated in on a engine dyno before they go in the cars. I had read somewhere that they are on the dyno for aprox 43 minutes. Good luck on the slow death, I plan on the same.

What happened to good old White Trash???? I know someone mentioned heโ€™s around but I have not heard him make any comments here.
