I’ve got a ‘24 Durango Hellcat. I’m thinking about wrapping it in Satin Black, instead of doing PPF on the front and ceramic coating it.
It’s Red Oxide now.
Any pics of wrapped Durangos would be appreciated.

Satin black on a vehicle that big...seems a little much to me..but that's just an opinion

Why not opt for PPF in Satin Black. Kill two birds with one stone......

I talked with my install guy about that, I’m going with Avery brand of Satin Black. It will give me some protection.
I was gonna go with Ceramic coat and PPF the whole front , but for a few hundred more I could get a full wrap in the color I was thinking about.

The full PPF of the Durango in that Satin Black would be around $4k. That’s about $1k more than what I wanted to spend.

$4k for a complete PPF on a Durango? I was thinking more like $8k. If u found someone to PPF ur entire giant Durango truck for $4k u should jump on that immediately!

I get it. This guy has been doing this for 25 yrs and has had his own shop for around 5 yrs. He is a one man shop.
He did a fantastic job of PPF on the whole front clip, A pillars, under the door handles, and had him do the lower section on my rear quarters for protection when I “warm” the drag radials at the track on my Redeye.

Had another “reputable “ shop with good reviews do the PPF on the Redeye a couple months before I found this guy and they did a horrible job to the point when I picked it up , looked it over, had them peel it off and refund my money .

One of the main things that keeps me from ever seriously considering it is, as I understand it, a good job is gonna entail the shop taking off parts like maybe the bumpers, and possibly the hood etc., or at least that's what I've seen when watching shows like "Bitchin' Rides". I dunno, I'll admit I have trust issues LOL but I'd be concerned about em not getting everything buttoned back up in tip top condition. Like maybe skipping some pop rivets or the like, and it just not being as solid as before. I know, that probably sounds like crazy to folks that have had it done, or to folks that have done it themselves or do it for a living, but still, one of my many crazy concerns I have when considering a potential wrap.

Trust me , I about crapped when I stopped by to see the progress and he had the inside door panels off, door glass out, mirrors and door handles off 😮 , but when finished it was all put back together perfectly. Doing that allowed him to tuck the wrap around all the edges so it looks factory.
