No need to swap to a 15 inch conversion anymore MT has how relased the Pro Radial in a 26, 27, and 28 inch on a 17 inch rim and a 29 inch on an 18 inch wheel. Pretty dope!

And for u guys running cars with clutches they have a new ET Street R Bias. The Bias version of the Street R.

The Pro Radial just hooks up so much better than the Street R tho. Its not even close. Ull nock .2 tenths off ur ET for sure.

For u guys who wanna run their factory 20 inch wheel they will be offering the Street R in that size. Thats a great uption for countless members who dont want to have to buy new wheels to fit a Street R.

This is so huge im so psyched. I was praying someone made a 15 inch conversion for my Hawk so i could run the Pro Radial in a 15 cause thats all they offer it in. Never happened cause u need 17's up front so the % of front to rear size isnt too far off cause of the AWD. Just not a big enough market for it.

But now they got a 17 inch and a 20 inch coming out so Pro Radial front and rear will make a HUGE difference in traction.

I had the Street R's on my Mustang in a 15 inch. I switched to the Pro Radial it was a NIGHT and DAY difference like not even close in traction. This is a game changer ppl sould be psyched about this especially since guys here can run the 17' and or the 20's without changing their brakes over which is why 99% dont do it.

Both Street R and Pro Radial are terrible in the rain so might as well get the better hooking tire its not like the Street R is more "Street Worthy" its not.

Does anyone run a Street R on the street? Could I throw a Street R on my 20 inch wheel, replacing my 555RIIs and hook up better or am I going to get zero longevity out of them and regret it? At ~900+ wheel, the Nitto’s show some signs of weakness.

They are releasing a 20 inch version of the Pro Radial but not sure about the Street R in that size. I was just shy of 900 whp myself with my Redeye and them 555R2's just couldnt get it done. The Street R's were better but still not great.

The Street R wont work any better in the rain than a Pro Radial will so might as well select the better hooking tire. A Pro radial in a 20 inch is a game changer for anyone running 20 inch wheels.

I would opt for the Conti Extreme Contact Sport 02 long before I put the 555R2 on if ur looking for a street tire that u can use in the rain. It hooks just as well as the 555R2 but is great in the rain and lasts way longer.

U wont get a lot of miles out of the Pro Radial its simply a much softer tire therefore it hooks better but the traction between a Pro Radial and a Street R is apples to oranges not even close and forget when comparing to the 555R2 like in a different universe!

All depends on how often and when u drive ur car. If its a toy and a weekend warrior the Pro Radial is a no-brainer.

Pro Radials have always been DOT approved but for race only not for hiway use. The only reason the Street R is allowed for hiway use is because of the small groves it has when new but after a few burn-outs its the same as the Pro Radial.

So its sorta a gimmick to say street legal cause the reality is if a cop was to check ur Street R tire after a few burn outs there would be no more rain groves therefore the tire would no longer be safe for hiway use.

Thanks. My car never sees rain as I have a truck for anything less than ideal weather. Maybe I’ll look into a pro radial back there on my 20’s once my Nitto’s are toast.

I have a set of 17” welds with Street R’s on them for the track. Probably will move to the pro radial on those too once the R’s are done.

Bro it will be such a difference in traction ull think u have velcro on ur tires lol. The 17 will hook better obviously with more sidewall but I would bet dollars to donuts a 20 inch rim with a Pro Radial will hook way better than a 17 inch with a MT Street R.

I remember the first time I put them on my Mustang I literally felt like I had such an advantage over my buddies who didnt have the Pro radial. I was smoking them so bad from a dig they were like WTF. They soon all went with the 15 inch conversion and put the Pro Radial on. The difference in traction over any other tire ive used on the street is just night and day.....

Mickey's for the win. Love they are coming out with the larger wheel diameter tires... definitely will go that route when these nittos wear out..

What would be a option for the OG demon or Superstock owners?

That have an 18 inch coming out that should work. Should be night and day difference over those Nittos!

The Pro Bracket Radial has a 17" size virtually identical to the 315/50/17 ET-R with the exception of patch. It's just over 1/2" narrower on the asphalt.

If I didn't have a surplus of ET-R at the moment I'd try it.

So I'm looking at the 28.0/10.5R17. The stock P0AS dia spec is 28.8, so with the 2.62 I'm thinking go smaller dia. But the MT PBR 28" has a spec width of 10.3" which is 261mm. Will it really deliver better traction than the Street R 305???

305-261=44mm=1.7" Seems like a huge difference.

FWIW...the compound on the ET-R is only about 4 steps softer than the PBR...and that's according to MT's own scale.

You run the pro radial full time on the street or do you run an all season?

I think some here might be confusing the Pro Bracket Radial with the ET Street Radial Pro. The Pro Bracket Radial, which is what is now being offered in 17" and 20" configurations, has a harder compound than Et Street R and ET Street Radial Pro. The ET Street Radial Pro is the tire that will offer the most bite on a radial prepped track, and unfortunately, this tire is still only available in 15" sizes.

I run both ET Street R and Pro Bracket Radial 15" tires on my Redeye. The ET Street R will hook better and be more consistent on a well prepped track than the PBR, however, the PBR hooks better and is more consistent on less than stellar prepped tracks than the ET Street R. I haven't used the ET Street Radial Pro yet, but from what I hear from people that have used them, they are the top of the food chain on a radial prep track. I plan on trying them next season.
