there and do it without cursing, LOL.

On which 170? He installed the lockouts on three (3) 170's (he has purchased 3). I do believe the dealer installed them on #2 but I could be wrong.
He did them himself on all three.

I did all 3. I am getting pretty good at it.
My Dealer put my supplied NGK 2309's in there for $560. WELL worth the money.
As of now I am thinking just MAYBE Dodge bushed the D170 rockers. I honestly cannot think of any other bronze part that could make those consistent flakes. Rod Bushing and Valve Guide are a stretch. Anything else?
Car runs perfect and you would never know if an oil change was not done.
I have only checked 2 random takeout plugs and both were .031.
I am in IN picking up my new Trailer in the AM tomorrow. IMG_4251.JPG IMG_4250.JPG

Ron,

Beautiful trailer, congratulations, enjoy it. It looks like it is long enough to fit a golf cart with the 170

Valve guides most likely not, wrist pin bushing in rod yes possible, detonation could pound them out. Cam shaft bearings are a possibility too.

I was sitting at my work bench just staring at this machine. Ralph Gilles and team definitely got it right and I'm sad to see it end. 20241017_175645.jpg

Looks great.

I keep seeing rumors that BYD wants to buy Dodge and Chrysler.

Meanwhile, Ford and GM are cranking out the V8 hits. Kind of pisses me off.

Chinese electric car company. They have an eye on the Dodge brand & the Korean‘s like RAM & Jeep.

I don't enter many car shows anymore as I prefer racing, but there's a huge one each year called Oktoberfest. I decided to take the Demon since it was such a gorgeous day. Won 1st in the Mopar class. 419 cars were in the show but no clue how many in the class. The carbon Charger that sold on BAT a couple weeks ago for over $300K was there. It was pretty bad ass.

Surprisingly it was the only 170. People were acting like I pulled up in a space ship!

Fun relaxing end to my vacation.

I am glad you were getting all that attention. It certainly is cool. And, driving these D170's around is so cool. I had mine out today as well in super nice weather window down playing classic rock. Bad Bearings and all.................

Nothing against Speedy, but this is exactly why I stopped doing car shows.

I had built a modified import that was clean and was fast. Wasn't just a turbo kit slapped on with 3psi of boost just to wow people. Car actually went mid 11s in the early 2000s.

Guy rolls up with a brand new special edition car.
I took 2nd
He won 1st.

Been salty ever since. :ROFLMAO:

With this huge opening in the hood and the way the air filter basically sits up in the airflow my filter was collecting a ton of debris so I put a pre filter on. I cleaned a PILE of debris out of it and only 2400 miles.

Thought it'd be a 5 minute job and man was I wrong. Whoever designed this air intake had way too much time on their hands. Odd screws that hold the filter to the air box, pcv tube that I don't think can be removed, etc. Took 45 mins and a lot of wrestling to get the air tube that's 1/2 inch too long back in place.
