A car Jon tunes was at the FAST race Friday at 131 raceway. He went 9.71 with the stock front tires. Jon had his 18" skinnies with him that have the ET streets on them and let him borrow them. His next pass was 9.63

And that is another thing that confuses me (I'm a novice). When I did my 10.286 it was at 133.55. How does a car come through in 9.71 at only 131? I would have thought quicker times would result in higher speeds.

Sorry to go off track.

It passed at "MY" track, but then they'd let you run down the quarter in your underwear with a dog in the passenger seat so take that with a grain of salt.

I got tired of taking the back seat in and out so I had already made plans to build a light weight carpeted close out panel and then the rear seat delete kit was offered, so no brainer to just get that.

ET is typically a measure of how well a car accelerates particularly in the first 60 feet. MPH is a measure of how much horse power a car makes. I've seen cars to roll races at the track and hit the tree at 30MPH and still trap the same MPH if they started from a stand still for example.

He ran over 140 mph. Our home track is Martin 131 raceway

Expected mph for a 9.7 would be 140+

That makes a lot more sense.

In the past I have noticed in runs where I slipped and got a poor ET, the speed was high. Then I would get the traction under control and get a better ET and slower speed.

I'm just a hack, trying to make sense of this, thank you for the info and sorry to interrupt the thread. :)

Car was a 16 hellcat with a 2.65 pulley. With the skinnies it still weighed over 4500 with him in it. He had the seats out but also had a full tank

Found online. I believe these are 17s. @Marc W said something similar for weight

I posted mine earlier in this thread. They are 22 lbs total because the wheel is a Comp Series. They are super light race only. Wouldn’t hold up to regular street use with pot holes and such. This is as light as a lug type wheel and tire gets. IMG_2996.jpeg

They fit on demons I believe with the 4 piston calipers. A member in here is selling a 17” matching setup front and rear

Tbm just came out with their street version. I’m waiting to hear some feedback. The wilwoods or race tbm are not great if you are someone who likes to put a bunch street miles on and drive it hard.

I saw that, they’re still really light too
