Alright, it took the dealer forever to get their SRT tech free'd up to actually remove the trans, but that got done a couple weeks ago and it was finally shipped to Dave who turned it around lickety split. My fixed/upgraded trans arrived back here on Tuesday and will be bolted back up in the car this afternoon or early tomorrow the dealer is telling me.

It did end up being a broken input shaft. I've been advised to run the trans in sport or track mode whenever I plan on driving it hard or going WOT, and to downshift ahead of time when I'm going to do a pull on the street to limit the harsh downshift that will happen otherwise. Luckily, holding the left paddle down in these cars makes that really easy.

Should have the car back for the weekend and hopefully this is the last update in this thread until I have a 9 second slip to share. At this rate, it might be next season. I think I'd like to enjoy the car for what's left of the season without risking any more down time :ROFLMAO:

I always manually paddle the car to the right RPM range to make a pull. I usually like to start getting after it around 3500 RPM.

Ya, I generally do paddle down before making a pull as well but not 100% of the time depending on the circumstance. Stock or closer to stock power it wasn't really a concern but I guess now at this power level, it's not an option anymore so I just need to keep that in mind.

I'm thinking Street Night Aug 9, I just need to diagnose my trans prob. There is track rental Aug 7 and 9. Not sure if I want to do the track rental just to work on the trans. Let me know what you do.

Just make sure you don't solve your trans problem all over the track :) I might come and watch. I'm likely going to stay off the track until next season. Car should finally be good to go, but I just don't want to risk breaking anything else, even minor, since there's not a ton of time left in the season at this point. I've only been able to enjoy the car for about a month this entire year, I want to make the most out of the last 2-3 I have left before it goes away for the winter.

Maybe take the family on a nice weekend up north! Enjoy driving it in the mountains and seeing the scenery! We used to do that couple times a year, but lately we have replaced it with Land Speed Trials! :)

Maybe come to a street night with regular tires (for you I think that is the 20" Nittos?). Take some easy runs and don't try to break the sound barrier in the first 60! Pass on the Launch, just do an easy street start and no WOT until you are over 90. Just relax and have some fun. :)

That does sound like a good idea. Shouldn't break anything, but still get to go fast without worrying about prison time on 95. The top end is always fun.

Even if I wanted to take it easy I would just pulley way up and still take the good tires.

I've had a couple close calls on street tires on the street before so now when I want to get rowdy I make sure I'm properly equipped.

You'll beat the bad weather coming from the South. But it might cool the air up there.

We are currently in a weather pattern that is all "widely scattered rain and thunderstorms". It'll be beautiful where you are, but pouring where you want to go 5 mi away. We need to make plans and hope for the best.

At Land Speed Trials, they shut down the course for no apparent reason. It started raining 2mi away at the end of the runway!
