Now that I'm in the 300+ range I'm starting to use more rpm with paddles. I checked the oil tonight and it's still showing what I'm guessing is about a quart over filled. Any thoughts on how to take some of the oil out besides popping the drain plug and making a big mess?

Almost there. I was curious what it would do if I tried to use some functions before 500 miles and well....no soup for you.

Just drain it all at 500. Do your first change.

Leave the oil alone. That extra quart is not going to hurt a damn thing. Although the motors are supposedly bench run for like 2500 miles before they enter the car I'm not buying it. If there's anything I learned on break in, extra oil is okay, too little oil is the bad times.

Drive it like you stole it, cut the filter and then take it to the track. This car was not meant in any way shape or form to be treated like a garage princess.

Probably not necessary, but lots of folks on BITOG swear by Mityvacs.

Put a small tube down the dipstick and draw some out with a mighty vac or a large syringe. I use a large 4 oz syringe from McMaster to draw mid run hot oil samples

I agree here, just change the oil and filter. I’d for sure be cutting that first filter open to see what’s in it and cutting the pleats out of it and stretching it out to see what’s in the bottom of the pleats.

Why not cut it if you’re already doing the change yourself. What’s it take to open filter another 2 mins. Great early warning detection especially if failure/repairs are on your own dime ie: out of warranty cars

Great way to see if shit may be coming at you for another couple mins work. To each his/her own. FWIW I use a large pipe cutter with good sharp cutting wheel. No fillings at all to see the real debris in it.

Thanks to @TNREDEYE for letting me swing by his shop today to try on some shoes. This is the Hellcat 2 widebody 20x11 wheel with a 305/35R20 on it. Looks like too much gap to me but I'm running out of options. Kinda a bummer they made this car sit so oddly and don't offer a street setup. I emailed SRT Concierge and inquired about the DC street setup that's supposed to be coming and they told me they had no info and no idea if/when it would be available. They said the "engineers" tested a 275/40R20 up front on a 9.5" wheel and a 275/40R20 out back on a 20x11. Huh????

Ugh.
