170 has the standard 3yr 36k bumper to bumper and 5yr 60k miles powertrain.

I normally waited 1000 miles before doing mods on a new car to shake any bugs out. However I was never able to just buy over 1000hp stock before. I don't expect this one to need much if anything to meet my needs, but yes changing the speed limiter would be a 2 second tune change if someone wanted. I'm curious if the pcm is locked....I expect so and probably why we've only seen people tuning the trans thus far which I'm not sure what's gained there.

Factory vs non factory aside ( to avoid an endless argument )

If someone wants to go faster ( MPH ) for some reason ?!?!
I think it would be achievable

Change the tires
Tweak the tune ( limiter )
Run gas not alcohol
I m not confident with the factory tires or the fuel system on alcohol past 150 ish
But I am confident the car can easily go over 150 with a few minor changes

I m surprised no one has posted some experiments / testing of this nature to date
I'm fine with 150...

I'm not sure you can actually up the shift points without also tuning the PCM, they go hand in hand. Perhaps if like 1-2 or 2-3 are set really low RPM wise in the trans there might be something there, but otherwise the rev limit is in the PCM.

Just got an email from Radford. The 2 day drag race course is $4699! WOW.

It came included with the 170 purchase. I didn't realize it was that expensive. 9 sec license cert included so that'll be handy perhaps.

12“ works fine. 13” may stick out. No, it WILL stick out unless you can hide it more internal with a different offset Check out the rears of my 12“ wheels. 345/30’s on 12” wide Triumph Wheels. Zero or near zero rear Camber, and little or no toe. Contrast that with the fronts that have negative 2-3 degrees camber.

Zoom into those rears @Speedy! at 12” straight up like you want everything it peaks out a bit.

Good info, I def don't want them sticking out. Maybe a 12" with a little more backspace to tuck. Looks like a 18" is also available which may more closely mimic the fat rear tire look of OEM.

Getting in to 11, 12, and 13" wide wheels they're gonna be pretty deep. I dig it personally and it should go a long with the theme the car already has. My goal is to change to a street setup that maintains the spirit of the original design.

They offer these as well....wonder if they can do Brass Monkey. Looking like it's gonna have to be something in a 20" wheel. 18s there aren't good tire sizes I can find.

I would be afraid to price them out

Why can you do the two brass monkeys you have on the front and then get 2 widebody fitment warp speed wheels powder coated to match? Run a 315/35r20 NT555R on the back?

Or find some 18 Demon wheels for the rear and get narrow body replicas for the front.

If I had a D170 I’d be saving for some Triumph Mx4 wheels. 20s up front and 18s in the back.

@Bowtie Guy I'm not sure what you mean? Get more Demon 170 wheels? They're not the right size for street tires.

@clv22p I could do that. I may want a change after 7 years with the Warp Speeds. I'd sell the ones I have if I go a different route.

I would be interested in the Brass monkeys should you want to sell them.

I did quite a lot of looking for a good, decent size street tire for the 18's on the SS. I never found anything other than the 315/40 and it's short by comparison to the tire that's on the 170.

On the front of my 18 Demon I ran 295/45/18 Nittos.
