Everyone knows that the car was tuned to the max, had mega fuel (methanol?), and perfect tires with enough glue on the track to suck out your left nut.

He's off to a fine start.
Wow, he already modified the car. I thought he would keep it stock like the OG Demon

Are you referring to the wheels?

race seat, removed anti-sway bar & passenger side mirror, most likely running skinny up front.

Is that considered "mods" in the Demon world?

when chasing the number with the OG Demon, yes, particulary the race seat, as I recall. The unlocked PCM was also a source of question, as it raised questions whether the file was factory.

Race seat could be considered a safety item. Unlocked throws everything out the window in my opinion.

FYI- the race PCM that the dealer installed (after 500 miles) was unlocked. There was no choice if 840 HP was desired.

Not the case with the 170?

No dealer installed parts are needed for the Demon170 to run 8's. The optional parachute is required by the NHRA if exceeding 150 MPH, two parachutes are required if exceeding 200 MPH. The car barely exceeds 150 MPH, I wouldn't use it.

I'm waiting for a 100% untouched one to run 8s.

I think that the Legion of Demons group might want to get together and make a ruling on what qualifies and what disqualifies a car from stock when claiming a record. At least at their events. It would be nice to have some standard if anybody is going to care about who does what. It seems like in the past it was ok to reduce weight as long as the engine remained untouched as well as the ECU. Wheels, tires, batteries, seats weren’t considered mods. I don’t have a dog in the fight so its all just entertainment, but somebody should set some rules to keep the bickering to a tolerable minimum.

FYI- the anti-sway bar is heavy on the hellcat. The OG Demon had a hollow sway bar to save weight, it weighs some where around 30 or 40 pounds. Removing the sway bar and factory seat probably saves over 70 pounds. The kirkey race seats weighs nothing

Thanks for reminding me about the battery, Ron's Demon probably weighs around 100 pound less with the modifications than RIPA's. Just pointing out the obvious

This is probably going to repeat the original shit show that was on fakebook.
