Hellcat low horsepower

New to the forum as I just bought a 23' Durango Hellcat about a week or so ago and came from a Durango 392. Question I have is, on my 392 on the horsepower gauge my 392 would max out at 496 (exhaust and cold air intake). On the new Hellcat in normal mode I see it will only put out 3psi of boost and the HP maxes out at around 510, in track mode it will pull 7 psi and hp says 570-580 max. The truck has only 400 miles on it now. Does it ad power after 500 or 1500 (track use allowed after 1500) miles of break in? Seems like these numbers are very low for something that's supposed to have 710 hp. Granted, I know the gauge is an estimate but this seems like it should pull harder as well. Before I get flamed for beating on it before break in, I'm following the owners manual that says between 400-500 miles to start to run it up to 5500 rpm and use paddle shift and use track mode but no hard launches (wont let you launch yet anyway). Is there programming that will let this thing go balls out at a certain mileage?

Very odd. You should have full power available from mile #1, at least that's how it was in my Challenger.

In addition to the red fob, make sure it is in 700hp mode. Even with the red key in your pocket you can override to 500hp on the screen.

Both key fobs are red. I will switch them up and see if there is a difference. G

I didn't realize there was a 700hp mode to switch to. I will look at performance pages and see if i can do that

Normal 707hp Hellcat is 11.6 psi at sea level. New Durango might be different, sorry not too spun up on the SUV end of the Hellcat word.

Old style display, but yours should have something like this. Left button might be on 500hp?

Thought only launch control was locked out until 500 miles. At least that's how it was on the 2017's like mine..

You will see the boost, but computer will not allow max until break in miles are at minimum, 500 miles...at least on my 18 is was that way.

I'm locked out of launch control still and i definitely don't have the power option yet. just ran out there to check it. hopefully after 500 miles i get full power.

Perhaps you're defaulted to the wrong horsepower measurement setting? I thought there was an option to switch between different measurements; i.e Imperial vs Metric; like BHP vs something else; forgot the name of the other measurement standard.

My 23 Durango Hellcat came with 2 Red Keys and the SRT Drive modes are Track, Sport, Auto, Snow, Tow and Custom. Launch control is available at 500 miles.

It may not (probably not) explain the lack of power, but keep in mind that you won't see full power levels until you're right at redline.

Further, you won't see full power if your DA is above a "Standard Day"...

There isn’t a normal day, but there are averages. Standard atmosphere is 1013 mb at sea level
