Searched but couldn’t find answers on this.
On a dual pump system, Fore hat with dual 295 pumps in a 2016 Hellcat both pumps on FPCM’s.
I need just a bit more fuel, fuel pressure dips just at the top of third and fourth (M6) driving injector DC up to just below bypass valve openning, hitting 81%, bypass will start openning at 85. This a Temporary bandaid until I add a third pump over winter as I’m not a BAP fan as a permanent solution.

I have a KB dual PnP BAP that a friend loaned me from his hellcat but for starters I wanted to just hook up 1 pump to the BAP and do a test hit to see if running only one pump boosted is enough. The BAP will be boost referenced switched to come on at 20 lbs of boost (adjustable 1-100 psi) as I’m running short on fuel top end running 24.8-25 lbs of boost.

Any known issues with just plugging in and running 1 pump as a first try? My concern is too much pressure as I assume once the BAP is on the FPCM’s have no pump speed control any longer?

It’ll be fine. Set it to 17.5v mode and go give it a whirl.

It’s a 21 volt unit, they switchable to 17?

I went down this road with a JMS and no dice. I'm told 17.5V is OK but that wasn't enough on mine according to logs. More than 17.5 wears out the armature in the pump.

I believe there's a dip switch on at least some versions of KB bap to go between 17.5 and 21V.

I'm gonna be in the same boat on E85.

I have a 4yr old Injected Engineering Gasohol kit with dual 285's and FIC1200's...

I could BAP them...but really once you pass this point you need 1700's+ and should be on a triple anyway.

My beef is the Gasohol was the only option at the time and it was a cut and splice deal. The new Tapp stuff is completely plug & play. I'd have to repair or replace the cut/spliced stuff before any meaningful PnP triple upgrade unless I went full rtard...which is likely. I am a native Potato and pinecone is my first language.

When I went to triple pumps, it was a mail in to Tapped upgrade deal for relative cheap. I supplied my own 285 pump.

My system will be going back to Tapped to add a third pump and FPCM over winter. I’m just trying to get a few hits in and maybe a dyno visit before winter. I was on the edge fuel wise with the 3.0 Whipple and 23-24 lbs of boost, now with the 3.8 and 25 psi of boost (maybe more??) it pushed me over the edge. I’m running twin 295’s atm with ID1700XDS Injectors. Third gear pull the other night was just on the edge of the bypass valve opening.

Mine dips to 64 I don’t think that’s a big deal, mostly 70-72 through the pull. Then again I have the redeye fuel rails but I don’t think that changes anything

Inj PW is important to note when looking at fuel system capacity. Interesting factoid, 2016 Hellcat has a 17.6 inj pw limit at 6200 rpm. More than that and the bypass starts opening. 2018 Hellcat is 13.7 in this same spot, as is 2019 Redeye. SRT got more conservative in 2018.

Exactly. Look at Unholy’s injector on time, 10.9 ms, I’m at 16 ms when my fuel pressure is waining down to 64 psi. I’ve got no time left!!! Now I’m on yet a different fuel pressure sending unit that whipple supplied but I’m looking more at injector on time atm then read fuel pressure accuracy, the injector on time is telling my I’m going low on fuel pressure, too low now.

Stop playing games, throw them in the trash and get a triple setup. I've learned this lesson the hard way when my BAP quit mid pass.

Plan to but just can’t be without a fuel system for 2-3 weeks it’ll take to get my system modified, winter is too near atm. This BAP thing is only temporary.

I got my boost pid worked out thanks to @fumanchu182, even though I’m not logging pressure ratio, I was able to calculate it with baro and manifold absolute pressure - hi res.

it seems pretty accurate, I have a 2.69 upper only, max boost I’m seeing is 17.6

anyway, I’m just a peon, carry on high boost guys lol

Boost was one of the first things I added. Base channels were in the config from Curt already I just had to add the math I believe.

2.50 upper only and before the headers on a cold night I have seen 22psi peak.

I lost 1-2psi with the long tubes. Even over catless mids.

22psi on an IHI and 22psi from a whipple are 2 completely different 22's though.

100% correct, my 22psi is like a candle burning brightest before it goes out.

Yeah my boost from a 2.4 is just a fart in the breeze compared to the same boost from a whipple
