I doubt a big company like Stellantis is gonna take any chances especially with the Volkswagon mileage debacle and others.
Everything the gubment gets involved with gets made worse with their meddling and this is no different. I drive my car 3-4,000 miles a year and I'd wager I have a smaller carbon footprint than the person driving a 50mpg car that drives 15,000 miles a year which is the average. We should be able to buy cars we want to buy.
I'd also wager there was meant to be a Redeye 170 and other models as well that all got canned. That's why their in the DC catalog now for power plants. Demon 170 was probably gonna be a 426 as well. Putting it on corn let it squeak by.
I looked in to this recently actually, Obama put in Cafe Standards in 2012 that fleet avg had to be 54.5mpg by 2026. Trump rolled that all back to 37mpg to give some relief, and sleepy Joe put it back to 49mpg for 2026 as soon as he took office and as an added bonus bumped 2024 and 2025 averages 8% as well. That's why these cars have to be produced by 12/31.
After the next few weeks when large amounts of people realize they have little to no chance to get #7 without giving up their house
They will fall back to earth & order SS JB Red E etc
These cars are ALL very special
Once this happens the schedule will be a bit clearer
This is more about part supply issues then build issues
Brampton can build 5000 cars a week if they need too !!!

He once said the car companies need to build cars that people want, and he was so smart he was going to help them do it. There is no limit to ignorance especially when you win popularity contests.
Yeah, and if any of us were to truly consider the looming depression/recession/shit-show that is coming, we'd all be on the auction block with what we have now as well...
But screw it, you only live once, and I don't have many years left!
