Wow, didn't know our button returns are rubber! Kind of sucks to know that in a few years the rubber will dry out and they will quit working. A spring would have been great, but I guess rubber is just .005% cheaper.
Back in the day.... Freon 12 was the magic solvent cleaner. I worked at an aircraft company and every once in a while someone would get their suit sprayed with hydraulic fluid. No need for the valuable employee to go home and change, simply go down to the hydraulics lab and rinse the clothing with F12 and it was dry cleaned! Those were the days...

In the garage where I started working summers at 12, we washed our greasy hands in a bucket of old, dirty leaded gas, then used hand cleanser to get the gas off.

It used to be carb cleaner, then CA requirements started forcing the mfr's to change the ingredients and the stuff we buy now is pretty weak. Soon it will be the equvalent of sented hand softener.
