Couple sneak peek pics Jesse sent me. Blower got here last week, but I've not opened it yet. Been working with the cradle lockouts.
Coating is proprietary on these new rotors. Jesse described it as having an increased lubricity vs factory and is intended to help them run cooler. Blue is SDG's color, so...

SDG informed me the lower plug on the back is actually the fill plug. The upper plug was used in the assembly line and houses an additional magnet. I'm guessing the gears act like a paddle wheel on the lubricant.
6oz is the fill amount. Look at the bolt in the smaller left gear. See the funnel shaped taper in the center? That leads to a small hole drilled through the bolt which leads to hollow shaft in that rotor which leads to a side drilled port in the rotor shaft that comes out between 2 seals behind those bearings. That area leads to those breather ports under the blower. The gear spinning at 20-30,000 RPM’s centrifugally separates the oil from the air so no oil escapes unless the blower in tilted to far towards the rear and oil gets in the hole and then comes out those breathers. There’s also another port that is behind the pressure seal that returns any list pressure back to the suction side of the rotors to recirculate it. Allot going on behind that curtain.
Looks like a job done right! 👍👍
Yes, a ton of engineering in there for sure, and you lucky guys who have had a chance at dissecting the hardware sharing all this with us who have not (yet?) is greatly appreciated!
Bringing this back to life. Planning on re-assembly tomorrow. @16GoManGoHC2 you suggested I use SS button head bolts instead of the plastic push pins on the FI spacers? Do you remember size and thread pitch? I think that's the only thing I don't have sourced.
Anyone have access to the torque specs for these T30 water manifold screws? Looking at T30 screws the max torque is 31.1 - 37.4 Nm (23 to 25 ft/lbs) which feels way too much.
