Ford advertises 3 days of household power and 10 days if it’s rationed. Now, if you have solar panels imagine how far you can stretch that out (if they’re working). Also, if your outage is “localized” and it’s a short trip to a charging station, it’s like going to the gas station to refuel your generator… only way more time consuming. There are ways to make EV work, but it’ll never be for everyone.

Somehow I doubt that thing could power my house for 3 days unless I killed off a bunch of stuff.
Everything is electric here - 5 ton a/c system, well pump, hot water heaters, stove etc.

I think the Power Boost F150 hybrid would be a better option if you wanted something "green" to drive and needed a truck. I don't even know if they are still making those, but I could see being able to power parts of a house for a bit if the power went out since that truck isn't purely electric.

Yes they are making those, the powerboost is like the baby between an ecoboost and lightning.

I am going to buy a AWD battery powered lawn mower tonight. That will be the largest item besides hand held power tools that I am prepared to buy now. I am doing that because I need a new lighter walk behind mower to cut tender new grass with some of it being on a steep hill. I am tired of buying carburetors every year or so and I am tired of hearing about its speed of operation, hard to start and besides that I am about tired of buying the liquid shit to run it. I cannot use my larger ICE tractors on the young turf yet, so I am taking the plunge. It is expensive, but it may be nearly the last mower I need to buy. Besides the new batteries every 3-5 years, the maintenance seems fairly light, and it seems like a good performer, even if this technology is in its infancy. I have plenty of power to charge the smaller batteries at home. Like the Depot and getting my 10% Veterans discount.

Yes one for my dad and one for me. I sold mine last year but he still has his. Very luxurious truck, rides like it's on pillows, the exact opposite of the trx in everyway. One is loud as hell one is quiet, hybrid vs ice, luxury vs sport. Trx is my favorite driving truck but the platinum is a more daily drivable vehicle.
