There is no way in hell that I would take a Challenger over my ZL1. In no way shape or form are they even close to being comparable. The ZL1 chassis and A10 transmission are far superior.
For a track car sure, go to a drag strip and some of these cats will wipe the floor with your zl-1 And to be honest track cars do nothing for me. whereas a Cat either flavor redeye with the drag springs on will ride like a 1970 cutlass supreme for comfort but transfer weight like hell at the track especially with the H/O conversion. It is all subjective of course.

I took one out for a test drive before I got the redeye. corners yes. for sure but it did not have that straight-line punch the cat had My kid who is a chevy nut was with me he insisted it tried them all while he was on leave. Even he agreed the Cat had more steam but he like the Camaro brand preference.
Agree, it certainly does not have the same punch as the HC. And the rumors are true, cant see out of the damn thing. Starting in 2019 the rear view mirror is a camera that gets rid of all the blind spots.
I was a GM employee for many years but they no longer are in the car business. Nothing they build has any type of quality control.Sad how there best producing plant is in China making Buick's. The Camaro is on its way out again no future model on the books..
I also have a soft spot for them. Had a 96Z28 that I modified quite a bit. Drag raced her, road raced her and did quite a bit of autocross. Still got with it awfully well for an LT1 powered live axle car when I sold her with 120k miles on it. So much fun was had for not much cash.
I'd love a ZL1. Not as a replacement but a companion for the Hellcat. Different tools for different tasks. Sadly, GM is kind of sucking it and likely will kill the car soon.

You will not get banned for liking a chevy. There are others on here that do or have owned them. I have not or ever will be on chevy owner
Having others brands creates competition which is good for everyone. Until someone like Dodge knocks it out of the park and the others give up and start making electric cars
Waiting for my Super Stock, been waiting for 10 years to fill the void left by the big D. Last I knew she (the 67) is running around Australia somewhere.
