As far as styling, good riddance.

Definatly have to change the front end but the rest of the car doesn't look too bad, the 540 hp turbo v6 would scoot in that light car.

Yeah....that's what the reports said...it would be on this chassis. But I guess since they have now merged with Peugeot......maybe it will be something different.

Before Marchionne died they had already decided the next gen Charger/Challenger would be on a 'heavily revised' version of the current platform rather than move over to the Alfa platform. For one thing the Alfa supposedly wouldn't accomodate a big V8 and they correctly assumed that would kill its appeal. With PSA in the picture now and Covid fucking up everyone's vehicle development programs for the last year, who knows how that affects their plans.

Chrysler did not have SRT before 2003 and now they're just rebranding SRT into another department to increase/drive sales up.

Do you really think, they will stop supporting the Hemi platform and the SRT modes like supercharger, HP transmission, or the wide range of diffs?
The answer is no. It has been almost 20 years since SRT came out and now time for a new racing division.

Our cars will be modded and restored for the next 50 years. This platform has out sold Chevy and Ford hand over fist. Below numbers do not include trackhawks:

Dodge has over 54% of total market sales in the Challenger and Charger platform, thus 54% of muscle car <race car trim>. Do you really think SRT is going anywhere or are they just REBRANDING and making us buy the next revision of SRT?

We are looking at a hybrid, then pure EV performance future. That goes for Ford, Chevy and yes, Stellantis (ew!).

That's the reality whether we like it or not.

That said, there are MILLIONS of existing HP ICE cars on the road now and that won't change in our lifetime.

My thoughts on this are that this was the writing on the wall all along. I suspect we all knew that. I think that what has happened here is that the combination of events that have happened since the merger and the current WH regime and the statements they have made is that "it" is going to happen not only much faster, but in a different way. I suspect they are going to rip the band-aide off.

I also can't help but think that even the most sincere people and statements (from SRT prior to now) mean little to nothing when giant, world-wide mergers happen.

Don't sweat the small stuff like electric cars. We as a culture have bigger things to worry about.

NOTE: Movies always show us the future. Go watch "Demolish Man" and see they battled disease/viruses and how to solve it.
But in the end, the fossil fuel car won the day! LOL!!

Well, history does repeat itself. The 60's muscle cars barely made it into the 70's before being killed off for multiple reasons. The ICE is living on borrowed time just like the big blocks of the 60's. Its inevitable that it would end eventually. Doesnt make it any less sad, but it was a good run for 700+ HP hotrods of all brands. I plan to hold onto mine for quite while, regardless of what happens next.

Exactly. We have ours and can get more via used car market if need be. Plus this helps our existing valuation. I guess, when you think of it that way its not all that sad really...
