Just another day in Albuquerque...Demon at the grocery store

So I had to pick up a few last minute things for the wifey, as I’m walking out I hear a familiar sound, turn my head and this dude turns into this parking spot with no hesitation. Guy was cool, I told him I had a lot of respect for the fact that he obviously drives it, he said oh yeah it’s a runner! I drive it a lot, I love it! It had a full interior and full top exterior black satin package. The yellow thing though...

There are quite a few Demons running around in ABQ, cool to see them! I actually saw a lot of nice rides out today when I was running errands...in my wife’s SUV.

BTW it was about 35 degrees outside, I drive my redeye a lot in temperatures below 40 degrees on Mickey Thompson ET Street R’s and they perform great. I bet this guy was having fun with the DA being around 3500-4000 feet today which is mineshaft air for us at 5500 feet LOL

Parking away from the herd is a way of life for me. I get more walking in and carry the packages.

You can't drive 10 minutes in Albuq without getting a little dust, but agree re: dirty underwear beyond that. And there is NO way i would park that close to anything ever!

Man if that's true...I would never own a black car there...I can get three...maybe four days outta a freshly detailed black car in WNY before the detail spray has to come out...

Well woke up to maybe 6/7 inches of snow...a far cry from the 12/18 they predicted...the trucks in the drive ..been warming up for half an hour...(to lazy to brush it off...)..then its the first plowing of the season...the first half hr is fun...then the bitchin starts...oh well just 12 more weeks..and its over...lol

Whether it's the Charger or the 16 year old Magnum R/T, (hell even if it's my wife's 12 year old Mazda too), this is where I park, every time, any weather, but that's just me ...




And I walk the cart back to the cart return, every time, any weather.

But good on that Demon driver, not to give 2 F's.

I dunno. I suspect that many meticulously waxed and detailed cars have "dirty underwear".
Nobody sees the chassis, so out of sight, out of mind.

My Challenger isn't exactly clean up on top, and it really doesn't bother me. But it made me very happy to see this (again) when changing the oil on the '18 the other day. Yes, the bits that actually count are clean, and nice to work on.

Okay, maybe the dirt on top costs me a mile or two in top speed, but I can live with that.

Way cool that he drives it and not parked in living room with bubble wrap. No way would I park that close. Wife would drive the 17 M6 cat, and now she drives 19 RE. Only request don’t park close. 8K miles no dings- (Yet). I know the story of possessed Red Eye, but I hope I didn’t put curse on myself.

One other note, I will never EVER understand why people drive around and around to find a close parking spot. If you just parked a bit further out they would not get dings, most of the time actually be in the store sooner, and wouldn’t you know it actually get a bit of leg stretch.Some times you have to go backwards to go forward. Some people will never grasp that concept.

No matter where you park, some old rusted beat-up PS Taurus will find you and park very close to you.
