2016 Challenger Hellcat

I've been working with this dealer for a while. Basically, looking at trading my 2016 Challenger Hellcat for a new 2019 Challenger Hellcat. Both have the same exact options. My current car has 40k miles, the 2019 has 12. Both standard body non REs with 8 speed autos.

The dealer is taking 18% off MSRP, which includes power dollars, and I feel like that is a pretty good deal. When adjusted for the increased value of my used trade in, the deal becomes 23.3% off MSRP (the trade value is $4k more than I paid for my 2016). No bullshit fees, just tax/doc fee (which I guess is bullshit but what can you do)/ and title. It's about 5% below invoice plus power dollars. We've gone back and forth for weeks and he says he is all in and cannot sweeten the deal anymore.

Seems like a great deal, but I am not sure it's worth trading my car + $20k (after you add tax/title/fees). Not worried about being able to afford it, it's just the opportunity cost of that $20k that gets me. Think I am going to pass unless you sons of bitches talk me out of it.

Also, if anyone wants a good deal on a 2019, I'll pass along the info. Triple Nickel, Leather w/ Alcantara inserts, pretty sure it's loaded with everything other than the auto cruise control (not sure what else was optioned on a 2019).

I take it the increase in air pressure didn't fix the vibration?

I'll update that thread haha.

The tires still sucks for the first 5-10 minutes on the highway in the morning but the ride got noticeably better when they were nice and warm. I drove a little extra today on my way to work and gave it about 30 minutes @ 75mph, max tire pressure I saw was 36 psi from the TPMS. I got out and checked the pressures manually and they were reading right around 36 psi at their highest operating temp. So I may try and give them each 2 psi or so more cold and see how it goes.

Haha yeah. I all the ammenities of the 2019 that have changed, I can upgrade on my 2016. Obviously there is the warranty discussion, but I don't think I am going to break $20k worth of stuff on my 2016, so that doesn't pass the logic test for me either.

I think I am just a sucker for a good deal haha.

Don’t do it since the RE options for used will become available down the road. And better deals overall will prevail later since in all sincereness the used car market is very hot. And I’d put my money into new wheels and tires like @Hunter did to his car. IMO his car looks bad ass and inquire to him as well.

I think you should buy the '19, and keep the '16.
If for no other reason to have as many doors as Hellcatcfp is dragging around with just one car.

Now that you mention it, I'm hauling six doors around between two cars.
No wonder I like the Challenger better than the 'Hawk.

The 2019 is not used, it's new still sitting in the dealers showroom.

The out the door price would be $59k on a car that has a $75,400 MSRP. I was trying to get the deal to $57k otd by taking advantage of the used market values but they just weren't offering quite enough on the trade to get there.

Just do it. Aero. You only live once.
Have them toss something in to ease the measly 2K difference if need be.

I get it but I have the 2019 Hellcat Charger and had a 2016 Charger their is zero excitement differences. And I sold my 2016 in 2018 with the hope a more powerful motor would come available. And last year nope and yeah a 10hp increase and I picked up another Charger only due to the incredible sale price. All I am saying is the uses 797 Red Eyes will start popping in the next year or so. And I would put it at 60k non wide body deal. So if I was you I’d sit it out and yeah if your fixated on a newer one great and sincerely no criticism if you go for it. But for 10k into your car she becomes unique to yours and only yours. Meaning tires and wheels and pully swap out and tune and BAM. We are supporters here so do what’s right for you and will all be excited regardless.

I def would not do it. Actually i didnt. I was in the same boat. 2016 wanting a 2019. You hit the nail on the head when you said you werent sure about buying the same car for $20k more. I felt the same way and in the end it was just too close to the car I had already and I hated the 2019 WB wheels so i waited. Then came the 2020 WB RE with nicer wheels. Much different in lots of ways and def didnt feel like the same car so I pulled the trigger and dont regret it. Got the WB, 90 extra hp, perf spoiler, and the 3.09’s to help it feel more different and fresh to me. Feels a LOT different/better and that’s the only way I would do it.
Unless youre getting something different then why bother? Is Apple Carplay and a few minor tweaks worth $20k? Nope.

Funny funny and thank god I have the non taxi version. Now for @Hellcatcfp we need a moment of silence:whistle:. A Charger parked outside:censored: and a Challenger WB RE to keep things balanced now for the other guy not so sure:whistle:
