For whom the bell tolls.... V86 Recall

Just got mine in the mail today. My dealer (local, not the one I bought the car from) is a complete cluster fuck house of horrors. What is the final scoop on this recall?

1. Does the flash do anything detrimental to the car?

2. Are willing to do just the hardware part of the work?

3. How long does it take to get parts?

4. Is there any performance improvement from just shit canning the cats entirely?

5. Has anyone experienced a decrease in performance from the cat inefficiency before the repair?

I had mine done. The parts took a couple days. The car was ready in a couple of hours. No performance loss that I can tell.
Last 2 times at the track we probably had as bad or worse air than you in Texas. The car ran 10.78 to 10.88 depending on the day. Maybe a bit quicker even as 1 race I entered was an 1/8 so hard to say if I would have run quicker or not. The next weekend I was bracket racing and I coasted to a 10.81 on a 10.84 dial in so definetly quicker. I am not sure if I have ever run in air that bad before. I would have expected slower times. So in my case I say no loss of performance.

First round of the recall botched my PCM, since then they have fixed the flash. IRT performance still running 10.9X as a stock hellcat in shitty summer humidity. I don't know if the cats overtemp is an issue, did a look at the flash before and the flash after in the PCM, COT wasn't changed so the temp stays the same.

Got mine in the mail also. I'm not planing on do anything with it. I could care less if Calafuckstan don't like my cats exhaust. To do the recall is just another opportunity for the dealer to mess something up. Bend, brake, puncture, scratch, smear grease, ding, !!!!

Knock wood, but so far my dealer has managed to work on both my cars without messing either up - hopefully that will contiinue with them doing the recall, which is scheduled for Tue with various other routine maintenance items.

I had no issue scheduling it or them having parts, had the SR double check last Thurs when I was in with the D to make sure the parts were there (they were).
She said they were having no issues obtaining the parts within a few days of customers calling for an appointment.

Word to the wise; never leave a dealership without a complete walk around of your car. I made this mistake with my sons Toyota van after warranty work. The parked it in a position where it would be hard to see the dent on the right front. Saw it when I got home. Too late.

agree,,, I will take another one in Fl in a tank full. Either that than a new C8 which has turned from an affordable $65,000 into a $110,000. ! year into, not, production. Nope do not think so. I have had my problems but not to take another 2 year wait and see project,, not fer me.

What you planning on doing with them? scavenge the metal? Go back stock for sale? Putting them in line with your current set for really REALLY clean exhaust?

Totally agree, this is what my dealer did to mine. They did end up paying for the repair, but still you think I’m dying to go and leave my car with them?
