When I got back from vacation and drove the Cat again she felt slow. I thought it might just be a bad tank of fuel. I refueled the last Friday and put Amsoil Octane boost in as well. I'm only getting 645-648 hitting the rev limiter in 2nd. Any thoughts before I take in to dealer. No mods or tune on the engine.
Thank for any thoughts

I’ve never used the hp thing on the performance pages to know if it’s accurate. Have you used it before and got higher numbers? Boost the same?

What does it usually read?
How different is the weather than the last time?
How many pounds of boost?

If the DA is higher (hotter weather) than b4 = Less HP.

645-648hp, that's about right, RWHP. I don't think you'd ever get 707HP to show.

I don't look at the HP gauge that much the last time I looked it was getting in the 690s before grabbing 3rd.When I talked to the Tech at the dealer he said the same about the DA but I have checked in three different days,I wouldn't think it would pull 50hp out of the engine, would it? I think the gauge reads engine not wheel hp I've haven't looked at the boost psi. I know if I was not using AMSOIL the hp would be alot lower. What numbers are you guys getting on your hp gauge? and boost numbers? So I can compare.

Boost should be 11. But depending on other factors it could be 10. If you are seeing less than 10 and aren’t at high altitudes you have a problem. Do you know anyone with a hp tuners device or a Diablo ? If you should datalog you would see all the info you are looking for.
you car does not have to be tuned or unlocked to datalog.
I don’t think I’d put much trust in the hp gauge on these things.
yes if your MAT / iat are high enough it could pull 50 hp. Also any sort knock retard could could take 50hp away.
also we have seen air quality make a difference (da). Some cars go almost a half second faster in the 1/4 mile. 3000da to 0da could be as much as 3/10ths knocked off the time.
but you don’t normally drive at 0 da.

I only saw 11psi on my gauge and in excess of 700hp one time, and it was 41*F… and the snow tires I was on were not happy about it.

I never really thought there was anything wrong with the car, there was never any excessive belt residue if it was slipping, and I ran a 10.9 at almost 5000lbs of race weight in positive DA.

Saying all of that to say that the gauge works, but I wouldn’t rely on it for much of anything. Track times and logs are the best indicators that something is different. If it’s noticeably sluggish… without a CEL the dealer won’t do anything for you other than happily joyride the piss out of your car to see if they feel the same way.

2nd gear comes and goes too quickly… try 3rd or 4th and let her build up some steam. For this pull I let the car downshift from 5th to 3rd and then into 4th… that all happened in about 1 second.

The A$$ gauge is what got me looking at the hp gauge in the car. I pull 2nd gear because it,s a M6 car redline in 2nd is around 90mph 3rd if I remember is good up to 120ish. I don't know any one with a data logging device. Plus I don't think I would know what I was looking at,but I can set up a set of points plus tune a carburetor, and get good timing with a vacuum gauge and my ear. LOL . Next time I drive her I'll look at my boost and see what that's at. CEL?

Cel is a check engine light.
nice thing with this forum is we can review the log for you 😜
My cousin has wanted me to learn carbs. He’s 20 years older than me. I do the computer crap he does the carbs. It just works with the two of us.
also look at iat on your dash if possible.
look at the temp before you hit it and after the pull. Hold on tight while looking at boost. Being a manual you will have your hands full.
iat temps (technically MAT) can pull around 10 degrees of timing if to hot.
only thing we won’t be able to monitor like this is your knock sensors.
this is a lot of stuff going on here and I am typing on a small phone screen one handed. Just got done running a bunch of wire under ground for the dog fence. So don’t mind any typos haha

I loved my underground fence my Chessie he only ran through it once. I'll put the whole dash up and have Ma watch the numbers while I'm steering and gearing. I won't have the time until this weekend. Have fun training your dog, and thanks for the comeback

Bad fuel. It must take a while for the car to "reset" it self. Ma has been dailey driving to School this week since I traded her R/T for the 12v diesel. We took her out today( when I found reverse) and I noticed the 50hp right away gauge showed 696 boost was 10psi

If Ltkr happened then it would take a long time to get rid of those. Also these tanks are hard to get all of the fuel out with the way the tanks are.
