Hey guys. I have a 2011 SRT 392 Challenger and was thinking of getting it tuned. It has a Magnaflow catback only. Any real world experience with tuning a stock car?

There is about 20 hp gain on a 392 with a tune

Agreed. That 20 hp in a car that weighs 4300 or so pounds just won't make a lot of difference, especially on the street.

Biggest difference is a tune will wake up that 5-speed auto and dial back tq management. Measurable power gain might be low, but "feel" will be noticeable I bet.

Welcome to the forum!

Your 2011 392 is not like a Hellcat.

Your Trans would be a Nag 1

Have you added mods or planning to do so? Because adding mods and supporting parts would only make it worth Tuning you Challenger.

I had a 2010 6.1 Hemi SRT built and Tuned by Joshua Schwartz owner of https://highhorseperformance.com/

Check out the link to their website and you will see a Plethora of Modern Hemi parts. HHP has their known packages that work best with a 392.

Just depending on what kind of HP you are looking to gain.

No sir. My old car was modified to the hilt. Only thing stock was the paint. It's now living life in Germany believe it or not.

The SRT Engineers really built and solved many prior SRTs issues with the Hellcat.

Can you ever go too fast? Haha. I would like to get it into the solid 12.50s. I think I would need longtubes for that.

Yea thats what I was thinking. Stiffen up the shifts and deactivate the MDS. I sure it could be leaned out a bit for some more HP.

There’s only a little left in the stock tune IMO, if you run Shell gas consistently or other real good pump gas so the car gets used to it, you will get pretty much full spark/timing advance on WOT runs after 2-3 hits and the computer system’s adaptives let it rip. I see you are hoping to go 12.50s and depending on your elevation and typical DAs I think that’s an easy goal if the car is still tight and right. A basic tune and rear tires would go below 12.5 at close to sea level even in the summer I bet.
