I know right!
Article also did not say where this 80mph took place. Was it in a 25mph zone (ok, understandable) or in a 55mph, 65mph zone? Makes a big difference to me and yes I know speeding is speeding but we drive cars that are capable of over 200mph! This 80mp they are losing their shit over is a nice Sunday cruise.

80 seems like an arbitrary number and just one less than 81. Going over 80 in Virginia is a reckless driving and a misdemeanor with mandatory court appearance even in a 70 mph zone. Maybe going over 80 is problematic in Comiefornia and the cop took it easy on them and didn’t write them up for the actual speed they went?
sheesh, do 80 in Phoenix on I10 or Loop 101, you better be in the center lane or "righter", or you will have people on your ass in a heartbeat. 95-110 common
Same in Tampa area. Nobody drives anywhere near the speed limit, in any lane. And sooooooo many idiots behind the wheel doing most everything 'cept paying attn to driving.

yep, going that fast is one thing (for a lot of people with no skills), but doing all sorts of things other than driving just pisses me off. I feel like my vehicle is at risk all the time, and sadly, I don't drive any of the Mopars to work for this reason

I don't drive my Challenger or my Harley to work for this very reason. Oh, and theft!! They tend to be stolen in this area (Toledo,Detroit) when parked at work
