Here is a thread for people to post what they have run or what they have seen. I have read of a few at different tracks so far with tracking issues. We will see what this weekend brings and who makes the 1st shoot at the 8 second time

I know Ron was testing yesterday at Irwindale (1/8 mile). We have a Race in Bakersfield (Redlist) that Ron has always run in the past. That is Dec 9th. Good track, good prep, good air. If anybody is going to throw down a 8 second number to establish what’s what with these things, I would expect that’s where and when.
These are Ron's from 1/8 mile. Pretty good 60'. Conversion calc to 1/4 mile says 9.39. This is 3/10 and 5mph more at the 1/8 than my car when it ran 9.63 in the 1/4. I figured these would be mostly 9.3 - 9.4 cars.
Ron stated he had to pull a lot of power to get it to hook.

Times are close enough to be track and da variables. Looks to be a 9.3 car out of the box with decent conditions. Considering the original Demon was low 10’s, that’s a good step up.
A tenth in the first 60 ft is worth just short of two tenths at the quarter. I’d say 9.2’s with that mph. My guess… he had better air than the +2000 da Ron had. Take my word (and the others that got stuck in the 9.0’s like it was the sound barrier). It gets harder down there. I have no doubts they will see 8’s in the mineshaft air that’s coming. That and some legendary radial prep.
The whole thing about it being held back. Took the Scat Pack we had with 400 miles. Would only run a high 12. Took back after 1K miles and ran a low 12.

I was a long time subscriber to Car and Driver before it was taken over by the woke millennials in the early 2000’s. Almost all of their long term test cars were faster after 10-20k miles compared to new. I still believe in a gentle break-in with increasing “exercise” as the miles accumulate.
