Buyer beware, they sold me a car online and it was not as advertised. Came full of road salt and had beat front brakes and rotors. Also had back bumper repainted and front fascia was damaged when someone drove over a curb. My first service inspection resulted in a $4300 bill for the brakes and rotors on a mint condition car.

Buyer beware. Joe Peterson was the sales crook and the entire dealership is a joke. Check the bbb reviews first. And the 5 star Google reviews are a joke.

Totally not as advertised and not even close to their description.

Dodge cares can't help until you own the vehicle.

Any problems buying the car, with the dealer, must go to Stellantis the parent company.of FCA.

Best of luck in your purchase 👍

That's what you get for having Ray Charles do your pre-purchase inspection.

When buying cars online, you're afforded an inspection period prior to delivery. Sounds like you didn't do this. That, and the absolute #1 reason people sell Hellcats and 392s is due to the brake job cost. Thus, the majority of 3-4 year old cars on the market need brakes. You got taken for a ride at $4,300 though.

That many people sell their Hellcats because they have to put brakes on them?
No wonder so many of you never drive them… must be cost prohibitive…

Buying a used car literally sight unseen in person is pure loonie tunes. Unfortunately the advice you're posting out of spite will prob go mostly unheeded because most people here would never purchase this way. This thread should be moved to the "What the hell were they thinking" area.

Idk I can't go everywhere and check out cars across the country.

I have purchased many new and used cars online, all sight unseen *I did look at pictures lol* by dealing with good sales people who accurately describe what they are selling. This is not really rocket science. Most auctions now are online in case you didn't know that....

And this was the first time a "dodge dealer" actually sold me a car not as described.... my issue is they knew it had beat tires and brakes and didn't tell me. They insisted everything was fine..
If they had told me I still would probably purchased the car. Bit I would have known what I was getting. Clearly they lied, and hid information from me.

So now, if someone else happens to go to this crappy dealership they might really take a better look at what they're buying, and if they buy it online, maybe they'll think twice before buying it from there...

And I would buy another one again, just not from them. Looking for a track hawk now. Online

Sure did. But I do this a lot, and I did my research.

Just this dealership wasn't honest. All the others have been honest and haven't hidden any damage from me.

What's the point? It is what it is.

Just be honest.

And all of them except this crap hole have been honest.

They suck. They are crooks.

And I love the car. It was a blessing.

Sure didn't. My dodge dealer here went above and beyond to make things right for me.

So in the end I got a way better deal, and made many new friends by them trying to cheat me, which didn't really work too well.

now I'm good and the cars got better brakes and better tires and it cost me pretty much nothing.

But that dealership, they will lose business by trying to screw me.

Ray Charles would have done a better job than these idiots. And I don't think they're idiots, I think they're crooks. They knew, and hid their pre purchase inspection and service records from me. But it all worked out better in the end. Way better.

Oh, and the reason why these cars need $2800 brake.jobs is because people do not know how to brake. It's one thing to brake from 60 to 30mph, it's a whole different thing braking from 140 to 70mph.

The car does down shift if you press the toggle shifter. And down shifting definitely saves brakes.

And you beat anything it's gonna break. Eventually.

Most Chicagoland dealers suck ass

Looking at a regular Ram 1500 - advertised at 42k. Sweet.
Ask what the OTD price is so I can bring a check - 52k!! And I will be seeing you later.

I have plenty of stories about different ones.

Used to live in Illinois for 11 years. Worked about 10 minutes from Elmhurst. That's a fairly exclusive community as I recall. Home pricing was outrageous. Never dealt with that dealership. Only Dodge dealer in Illinois I would deal with is Roanoke. It's in Central Illinois but worth the drive if you live in the Chicago area. Viper club I belonged to loved that dealership because of the outstanding service and reputation they had. The owner is first class. They were the best by far.

I broker car deals online, a lot. My advice is that understand that all sales are AS-IS. By law, the dealer doesn't have to tell you everything about a car (or even anything at all). When you buy a car online and have it delivered, I recommend to do a variant of what I do:

1. When it arrives, inspect it. Take all the time in the world. I've been known to take upwards of an hour and a half.

2. Invest in an OMDB2 scanner. These can be had for as cheap as under $50. Plug it in to the car and see if it throws any codes. Use your phone to Google the code if you need to.

3. Before the car arrives, make an appointment with a mechanic to have the car sent there for a professional inspection. I am fairly sure that state laws are fairly consistent in that the dealership cannot refuse your request.

4. Once the car gets back from its independent inspection, THEN you begin to deal with the dealer. Anything said prior to that point about condition or price doesn't matter.

5. Lastly, walk away if the deal is misrepresented. Walking will do two things: Save your money and more often than not, they now have a car on the lot that they weren't planning to keep. Expect a call shortly after you walk or the next day with a much improved offer to entice you to take it.

Since when is a seller required to have a used car inspected and provide you with the inspection report? And why would you even ask a seller for their inspection report on a car they're selling to you? You're the buyer, it's up to you to do the due diligence. You didn't do any due diligence and now I guess it's easier to call the other guy a crook than to look in the mirror to see who's really at fault.
